For lot of women, its based on looks. If you don't meet their minimum requirement for looks (which often is ridiculously high) saying "I like you" to a woman you barely know is only going to get you rejected. 'Date doctors' like Alex Hitchens are trying to create opportunities for avg guys so women can develop attraction towards them by seeing their personalities. I don't see anything morally wrong with it, life is not fair for everyone, you gotta find ways to compensate for what society considers "shortcomings".
@moxyblackfiddler

His job was 100% what he was trying to explain when clearing his name. He was telling the truth. He would have a case. She was in the wrong. She let her personal feelings get in the way of doing her job properly, didn’t double check to confirm if her sources were legit and instead risked Alex’s reputation over a lie. Best to make peace with it. All women are wired this way. They want a puppet master who can hide all the strings. The Wizard of Oz, not the man behind the curtain. Biggest difference between a good woman and a bad one is the good woman will be grateful for your sacrifices and the bad one will feel entitled to them.

When you keep your guard up because of what happened to you in past relationships, people eventually walk away. “There’s no future without forgiveness.” If you don't forgive yourself or those who have wronged you, how can you expect to move forward yourself? By building walls around yourself, you close yourself off from the rest of the world. Eventually, it gets very lonely, all because you won't let go. By the time you realize that it's you that's doing to yourself, it's too late. I've seen it for myself. I saw someone crying out for someone on their last days, regretting walking away from what could have been a beautiful life-long relationship. It's one of the saddest things I've ever seen. Don't be like her.

I HATED the ending to this movie. She ruins his life without the facts, and at the end he is chasing her to try and get back together. Even after he calls her out here, after he leaves she says, "Can you believe that guy?" Like she's still right. Ugh. They should've switched over to her fixing the mess she created by writing a new article and APOLOGIZING for her crap reporting, and then running into Hitch and apologizing once he read the article fixing his business... and then she could've said to him "Can I buy you a coffee?" and they could've walked off together but left it open to interpretation.

It would've made more sense, from Sara's perspective, if Hitch actually took Vance on as a client, before Vance flipped the script on him and Casey. Instead, Vance didn't even end up needing Hitch at all and was still able to get with Casey. Vance blaming Hitch for being unsatisfied didn't make sense, nor did it make sense for Casey to blame Hitch, since she already rejected Sara's initial warning.

The fact that Sarah isn't fired for her godawful reporting AND Hitch chases after her at the end makes me really hate the 3rd act of this movie (aside from the Allegra and Albert stuff). She really got off scot-free despite ruining two people's lives. (Obviously she wouldn't be fired just because she did one inaccurate story, but if Hitch and Albert wanted to, they could sue her and the paper for libel, and if I was her boss, I would sooner fire her and hire a new writer than deal with all that legal stuff)
