I don't know why there are a lot of negative comments about this movie. I think it shows Hitchcock's sense of humor; a great story line, and truly beautiful photography...

Alfred Hitchcock makes a comedy! We all knew he had a great, if odd, sense of humor 😊

When the audience is a rockin, blue Danube is rockin for them. Sounds great.
I started watching this in the middle at random and this is the scene I found: 27:34. A funny sight gag wickedly done There are scenes throughout the film as memorable.

I haven't finished it yet but I just have to say the hat throw and catch at 26:34 is great! I wonder how many takes Hitchcock needed for that scene.

Notice the bpace is a little faster than usual. Hitchcock has heightened the "expectation" level ..ready for one of his surprise twists....😊

Definitely an oddity in the Hitchcock canon, between BLACKMAIL and THE 39 STEPS. But you can see elements here that he would employ in later films, including the cuts in the orchestra scenes.
