Thanks Jay. Livestreams will be awesome. Never sure I've expressed enough how yourself and the other OGs have been super generous with your time and help over the years. The software was a great find all those years ago but it was the community which helped me get the most out of it.

Thanks for the info. Even though I use other software, Hitfilm has features I really like. Like the "Lens Dirt" effect is really good.

That’s a great question and I’m glad you asked. Yes you'll be able to install HitFilm on a new computer, but you'll need to have the installer so make sure you download it before January 15. Compatibility will not be guaranteed on new machines however.

Ive completely switched over to DaVinci Resolve and learning Fusion. Doesn’t seem like it will be worth it in the long run to stick with Hitfilm.

This saddens me I tried using Davinci resolve but always end up using Hitfilm. It's so much more intuitive and the special effects compositing are top notch. I don't believe Davinci resolve does the same for effects Compositing like Hitfilm. So sunsetting means no more Hitfilm of any kind in the future?! I was hoping they come out with a new updated version of the program.

I purchased my hit film pro version before the whole artlist and subscription debacle. I certainly hope that my Mocha plugin will remain with the program. It still asks me to register Mocha.

This is a double bladed question. FXhome had the license to distribute, but the reg/verification servers are Boris, and... I know any version of Mocha below 6.0 can no longer be activated. Ultimately, if your Mocha Hitfilm deactivates, or can no longer register, that's Boris, not Artlist.

I've got the full version of Hitfilm Pro 11. Is it worth subscribing for a month for the latest one? I've hardly used it, which is why it's so old.

If you have an extra $8 lying around that you don't need then sure, but if you never use it then I wouldn't worry about it. Make sure you have the installer for HitFilm Pro 11 though just in case.

Hi, My account just says that "You have a Perpetual & Free plan account" but I don't see "Plans and Products" or a way to download my paid for version. Any help would be appreciated.

After you log in to you account, under where it says "My Account" and "You have a Perpetual & Free Plan account" it says "My Profile." Right under that is a list of links. The first one is Download.

@@XDIY I don't work for FXhome nor have I ever worked for FXhome, but I've been told by several people at FXhome that you will still be able to activate HitFilm on a new machine. The big thing to note is even though it will be activatable, there's no guarantee that it will run properly on future hardware or operating systems.

So if I upgrade my subcription to Pro version on 29 /12/ 2024, will I get to keep the pro version permanently? Or do I have to wait until January 2025?

I wouldn't get a Pro account ($12.99 per month). Instead I would get a one month subscription to a Creator account ($7.99). At the end of the 1 month subscription, both of those will revert to the same perpetual version, which will look more like the Creator account version.

The problem with that is Hitfilm uses a lot of third party libraries with varied patent pools. Also Artlist still owns the underlying (original) tech and seems to have pivoted to plug ins. Another issues is Hitfilm is based on OpenGL, which is depricated on MacOS. OpenGL was a brilliant idea in 2011, but there are more advanced libraries now. Ultimately, to really improve Hitfilm one would need to rebuild it from the ground up (this was a discussion Ambassadors and FXhome had even before the merger). While it's sad, Hitfilm's time is up. For devoted users, can probably get another 5 good years out of it. More, depending on how often one upgrades their computers.
