When we do forestry work in Sweden it is wery important not to hurt or damage traces from the past. We have to mark evrything with stumps cut one meter and 30 centimeter above the ground and let them stand around the object. Called "Kulturlämning" or if it is wery old "Fornlämning". Happy Eastern and a good job to find those traces in that forest.

This is a fantastic piece of research by the both of you. Not only does EE have the sharpest eyes for historic details, but he's also clearly descended from Sherlock Holmes 😆. Again you've educated me on a type of installation that I've never heard of. Of course I'm familiar with the range finder gear, but not those towers, so a massive thanks for this. I'm very much intrigued by the cables you found, as they once carried orders and directions for guns and planes, so it's almost living history. Simply, wow! You have to consider that those cables originated somewhere, and I hope we find the origins next week. It would be interesting to follow the cables to see where they go, perhaps using a metal detector. All the best, and safe travels!

Absolutely fantastic work finding that site! Kudo's to EE for using his superpower to find those "Hans" pedestals! That would not have been easy in that forest, especially if it hadn't been cut down. I suspect the names "Heinrich" and "Hans" are for Heinrich Hertz, who proved the existence of electromagnetic waves in the late 1800's, which of course led to the development of radar, and Hans Hollman, who made a lot of breakthroughs in German radar technology, and it's use of microwaves. Incidently, after the war Hollman went to work for NASA in California, where he continued his work. But I must say, finding those pedestals, was a truly unique find. It's highly unlikely many know they even exist, and even then, probably not what they were for. Just an awesome look back into a forgotten slice of History. Looking forward to seeing what else that amazing place has to offer in the next video! Cheers to you both! Stay safe!

These are incredible finds, with so much history. 🐝There is one radio station site that relates to WW1 called Nauen and it had a massive array of antennas and a main building that 🐞had all the radio equipment and communication center. It could send and recieve signals with ships at sea and far off German colonies🪲 like Namibia, Togo, Tangayika, Tsingtao and Samoa in the Pacific. The site is somewhere along the Baltic coast. 🦋

These radio stations would be run for the Luftwaffe to detect enemy aircraft,🌸 but I am guessing they could also listen in to any army signals as well. They would be sef contained with their own electric generators on the ground a little way off and the crew sleeping quaters and mess as well. They would have been equiped with an ENIGMA coding transmitter/reciever 🌻and if they were near a military base or HQ they would have run a telephone line there.🌹
