Hind sight is 20-20. They were where they needed to be at the time. To have been as far back to last would not have been as useful. Immediate use was the rule here. So glad you have saved the images for the future. Thanks for showing the ridiculousness of expediency.

1stly,...where exactly is this? 2ndly to try and answer your question of why they built it there instead of further back is if they did build it further back they would have given the invading army 100-200m if not more of the beach, where they would be able to dig in etc,, you need to deny an invading army as much space as you can 3rdly, I would have had goosebumps checking out that site,...thank you

I never really have had a sens of how much money you put into these projects, but of course it must cost a lot considering how much more expensive everything has gotten the past couple of years. Not only the gasoline prices, but EVERYTHING. Really looking forward to this challenge tour! I'm also glad to hear that your health has been improving! Looking forward to all the upcoming content, and I'm glad to have been able to contribute with a few bucks via the SuperThanks on the previous video. Take good care, and let's hope the trip will go smoothly for you guys! ♥

I already love the channel as I'm a new subscriber and also love history. I've always wanted to come to this place and today I have thanks to you my friend ... so thank you so much for taking us with you. To answer your question "why didn't they know that this would happen"? ...( i.e. the bunkers in the ocean) The answer is they DID know it was going to happen however wasn't concerned because it wasn't going to happen in their lifetime and they definitely needed those bunkers on the beach and so it was. Over time those bunkers will be completely submerged underwater and the beach further eroded and the only way to view them would be with scuba gear. This most likely will happen in the next generations lifetime so you came at a great time to document this amazing part of history. This beach has eroded significantly since then as you are currently standing on the German side meaning that the beach extended miles further out where the troops accessed the beachfront by boat so the erosion has certainly hidden much as well over time.

Can't wait. You have so much planned, researched, and organized. Health can definitely get in the way if we let it, but like you said, one must not surrender. EE is very fortunate to have a father like you to support, love him, guide him, and give him strength to deal with his health issues. ❤ Yes, you have to make sure your equipment and vehicles are in great condition. The camper van can be a little temperamental. She's lucky you are the owner and have the knowledge to repair her. You won't let EE down. I gave a little bit through PayPal so you receive it all. If everyone gave even $5 or $10 it would help collectively. Be safe, stay healthy, and keep positive. 😊 ❤❤❤

Just a question, I love trains. I watched all your vids, With the ammunition bunkers and the M38's bunkers they have narrowed gauged tracks. Probably the same locomotive to pull the ammo. What locomotive did the Germans use during the war to pull the carriages with ammo? Or can you do a post on the locomotives they used please?

@@WW2HistoryHunter I just wastch a documentary I think ud love about recruiting Germans recruiting soldiers where us Americans are so tall they wanted to make thier tunnels shorter to make it harder for us to go thru the tunnels if we took them over. But Americans knew that so they did the same. But my grandfather was one of the ones that went thru the tunnels and tight spots cu he was only 5'7. He was shot in 42 and went back in 44.

Part of the reason for project highjump was captured german cement factory records showed they manufacturered more cement than bases/bunkers the allies knew about. The allies suspected there was a massive hidden german base in antarctica. While what they found there is still classified, and was probably little more than a fuel dump for submarines most of the missing cement could be explained by the construction of these bunkers, many hundreds of which the allies never discovered, and we only know about them because of erosion, land slides, and accidentaly discoveries during construction work. Pretty interesting all things considered.

So happy you’re getting back to better health. I know the struggle of getting back to your old self. Looking forward to the upcoming adventure. While it was an unexpected expense so happy the camper van is 100%. You both will be safer on the road and not have to worry about the van giving any trouble. Am in the process of replacing the roof on my camper. I’ve finally decided to break down and buy a shelter for it to make it easier work on it. I can pull it out and work till it gets too hot and pull it back under till the temperature is better. It’s an expensive I didn’t want to take on but will pay for itself in the long run. Plus it will help the new roof last longer. Are you going to surprise Eagle Eyes and just say let’s go for a ride in the camper and let the adventure begin or tell him ahead of time. I know Eagle Eyes and you will both be excited to get on the road.
