So pleased this came up on my recommendations, I used to visit your shop back in the 80s on Essex Rd , use to visit Quatermasters at the Angel and Andrew Beadle militaria when in Islington . Always loved popping in and buying bits and pieces and having a chat with your father, such a knowledgeable man. Lovely to see your still going strong. Thanks for the memories.

In my first book on the subject " Nazi Decorations & Medals 1933 -1945 by James A Sawicki (line drawings only) published 1958 , which proudly states on the cover "the only authoritative book of it's kind published in English " (Oh how times have changed ).I paid 35/- that's 35 shillings or £1.75 in new money ! I listed some prices at the time which would be around 1970. Army Para Badge 100/- (£5.00), Gilder Pilots 120/- (£6.00) , Cholm Shield 100/- (£5.00) !!!! Now where's my time machine

We’re you connected to the military shop in Islington? I would visit my relatives in Holborn in the late 70’s and take the bus to visit that shop. Chris was the fellow who ran the shop. I bought a couple of WW1 German helmets and a WW1 German Picklehauber helmet.there which I still have. I remember he had an original WW1 cloth cover for a Picklehauber and I mailed him the money and never heard from Chris even though I wrote to him a few more times. This was way before the internet. I remember nearby in Islington a Antique market in the area called the Angel that had a shop selling hats and helmets.i miss those days and my WW1 German Picklehauber cover!

My dad had white Hitler's shirt in a closet, I remember when I was very young walking to that shirt and looking at it and seeing insignia AH. I didn't know what it was back then and some years later I realized what I was watching I found it by looking at a museum that had the same exact shirt, sadly my mom thought nothing of it and threw it away in trash. I told her how much it auction and she didn't believe me, she just laughed it off.
