@@Nadie47 this new trilogy is a shallow and more boring version of blood money. The story is the equivelant of a james bond fanfic they took an original characters story and made it into an atrocious new world order bilderburg conspiracy spy thriller. The gameplay is solely based around you doing shitty story missions and the fact that they kept in the fucking ubisoft notice meter from absolution is jjst awful this game is only beatable on master thanks to its shit notice meter and well also the fact that the ai is shittier than blood moneys ai somehow. Back in older hitman games if you were doing certain suspicious acts like climbing pipes or walls npcs would notice you and tell you to stop in nu hitman the npcs could give two shits what youre doing unless youre holding a knife or an “illegal weapon”. You also have the shit like enforcers which is a nice gameplay mechanic in theory but in the way they practic it in nu hitman its terrible, severak placements of enforcers just are there to make your disguise obselete which is the biggest blue ball move ive seen in a video game theres also another thing about it and i dont know if this was intentional or not but since io devs seem so braindead im gonna go ahead and say they did this on purpose: basically several enforcers from time to time are just random npcs with no real rhyme or reason to be suspicious of you like theres one guard in the paris level that is suspicious of 47 without any disguise on in an area where he is allowed or the stupid shit in colorado where when you dress up with a fucking skimask on your face somehow two guards are suspicious of you. If you look at the train level as a level like the other 5 obv it's inferior, but imo it is a bonus level where you get to go wild like requiem in blood money. It shows how much damage 47 by himself can do, which due to the goal of the game is always underplayed. This is perfectly shown when two henchmen at some point question how dangerous are you really when all you do is stage accidents using disquises. Coupled with the 3 endings where any can be cannon dependant on what a future possible reboot would look to do (none of them are so nonsensical that you can say, ok that's there for the lols).

I’m honestly surprised you haven’t praised this game for what I love about it. It seems like you see it as 100% copy and paste from the last two. Yes, the overall gameplay is the same, but it’s the levels and their design choices that stand out here. I disagree that the levels are in no way unique from the last two because most levels have at least one unique aspect to help them stand out and keep it from being stale. Dubai is exactly what I expected, but it looks gorgeous! Dartmoor has the murder mystery, Berlin has a large variety of targets that you initially have to hunt, Chongqing was also what I would expect, but had the interesting story moment, Mendoza had Diana in the level itself resulting in some really interesting outcomes, and even the train level is unique despite not being a good Hitman level. Also, I think the level design is at its absolute best here! The other two games had excellent levels, but they were admittedly overwhelmingly large. For example, Sapienza mostly took place in in the central area, but had a whole town surrounding it, and in Miami, the racetrack and Kronstadt expo were big enough to be two separate levels. With the slight exception of Chongqing, Hitman 3 feels more tight. Some may argue Berlin is over bloated, but it has 10 targets spread throughout the whole level so it works there. Lastly, the story I’ll admit I also feel mixed about. The ending is really interesting, but eliminating the Providence partners was underwhelming considering all the build up it had. Lucas Grey’s death also felt way too rushed. All in all, this is a excellent formula brought to the best it can be. There really isn’t anything else they can do from this point without it actually becoming stale, so I’m glad this is how it concluded until the series is ready to make another comeback somehow.

H3 mission are the weakest selection IMO. They are fine for a playthrough, But don’t work for me as sandbox replayable titles. I though I might have burned out on Hitman, but honestly I had a lot of fun returning to missions from H1&2. Dartmoor murder mission is a novel gimmick, but it’s not interactive. Berlin is glorified escalation, with little to no resistance. H2 expanded what H1 designed, H3 feels like a step backward.

I personally loved all the levels in 3 but i admit, i was hoping for them to change things up more and i totally feel you on the story side of things, kind of fell flat. That said the amount of gameplay content is staggering with all games installed, even minus escalation contracts and user contracts, if you own the previous 2 Hitman reboot games, 3rd is absolutely worth the money especially if you havent played the first 2 in a while and are looking to come back to it fresh. Although after a full playthrough and looking at it in retrospect, i can see a lot of mission stories that had way more thought put into them than others, some were nearly rehashes. One thing i’d really want to change is to make some mission stories more doable without hint markers, some of them are easily accomplishable without them especially if you pay attention to in game intel but others require you already knowing where certain items or characters are with little in game hints to tell you otherwise. I feel like this would allow less hand holding and the formulaic design of story missions. In 3 I was very surprised at the depth on the England mission and honestly having no mission stories in Apex Predator was so refreshing, i never had improvised so much on a first run as i did with that mission. I think out of the series 3 has the strongest overall, but none of them are my favorite yet. One thing i noticed is how buggy 3 is though, i encountered multiple crashes and lots of wonky AI especially on the Mendoza mission for some reason. I hope with the success of this reboot trilogy, publishers see the validity in sandbox stealth game titles again, especially with the amount of positive coverage Hitman has been getting online now (outside of the mess of a launch)

Ok, for 1. this trilogy wasn't a reboot. They're sequels canon to the games from before them. This is told to the audience through a montage in the 2016 game's earliest cutscenes depicting some of 47's kills from the previous games. 2. This particular game isn't a send-off to the franchise. IO said it was the end of the "World of Assassination Trilogy." The series WILL return at some point. This is just the end of this particular series of games within the series.

Been coming back to this video after recently getting back into the trilogy and hearing it being pretty negative is sad. I get it to a degree ... When Hitman 3 came out, I also didn't play a ton of it. I did get the platinum, but I wasn't really hyped to do all the story missions and grind the mastery and it took me a good while. The game itself definitely does not have anything to do with it. After taking a long break and playing through the entire trilogy again, working on several challenges, escalations, side missions and freelancer, I somehow got back my hunger and put tons of hours into the whole thing. Hitman 3 in particular might be my favorite set of levels now and I feel like the whole story works way better when being played in one go. There's so many references, little nods and connections that make more sense if the last game wasn't played year earlier. I'm not saying "play it all again because you were wrong", but I can only recommend at some point to play the trilogy again as one big campaign at some point when the urge to do some stealthy kills returns. In my case it really revived my love for this whole trilogy! I'm actually contemplating going for 100% now :D

Ironically I think this game suffers from being too far away from the previous entries. You kind of do need to be very much immersed in the World of Assassination for its destruction to have the correct impact. I think that's why they gave us Dartmoor and the plot of the murder mystery itself- that everything we've done, all the murders, were completely unnecessary and there's nothing left but tragedy after tragedy, is the overarching theme of the trilogy. The bleakness of all the bodies piling up and... it's all pointless violence to no end. You can't really have the table flipped on you when you haven't been playing regularly. The best way to play the World of Assassination trilogy is as one unfathomably gigantic game rather than three separate games.

What happened to Grey was what killed my interest almost dead in this entry. He's one of the only Ort-Meyer clones left, and in a way, 47's brother. Keeping him alive would've been a great idea given 47 now has his memories and emotions back, but oh well.

Also, I was hoping for the last level to be in the asylum, but no :( The ending left me a little disappointed. Yes, you heard what Diana said in the 2016 trailer, but still...

@@coso2 : You and me both. Why didn't they do that? Give him the chance to end things in the very location he came from. That'd been great fanservice too.

Hi, i want to get into this games but i don't know what to buy, it's so confusing... If i buy hitman 3 to i get to play hitman 1 and 2? or do i have to buy those too? because since this was supposed to be a "season 1, 2 and 3" that's the feeling that i get and of what i see in the steam page but i really don't know... can someone sort me this out?

I personally didnt feel that the ending was very conclusive to the series. Especially with the "there will alwaysb be bad ppl so always ppl like me" or w/e quote really felt like a coming back type deal. hard to know though

I just watched your retrospective video of Yakuza 1. Why didn't you do the same for the 2? You said that you would at the end (which I loved).

i decided to get hit man 3 on game pass on my pc, having only played the italy map in the first one. after finishing it i realized i had the first two, and then i played those ones. so i had the same experience as you have, but with the 2nd feeling the most bland to me, because it was the last one i played.

My only complaint about this trilogy is that it feels too small - pretty short story, not enough levels, even if they are the big ones. If you look at this as a single whole game, then it's fine. But they are 3 separate games, where each has 6 maps in average. I think that's not enough for one game, considering how many maps we had in previous Hitman games. But sure, if you view it as one game, then there is plenty of content to enjoy.

Might I recommend a series review of Onimusha.

AI should feel more realistic. And some of the targets should of been more lethal to us while hunting. Instead felt like another simple AI

I played absolution and didn't much like it. It felt too easy in certain areas and I didn't like the mechanics of disguises. I like the new mechanic where certain ppl will know you're in a disguise because it lends itself to some realism and strategy. I played hitman 2016 And felt like it simply held my hand too much with scenerios. I skipped 2 and coming in to 3 I absolutely loved it. Felt like it was a nice mix of hints and letting me do whatever I wanted. I never played the older games so I never got to experience the stealth sandbox of those.

HOTTEST TAKE EVER: the episodic format of hitman 1... the- you know what fuck the naming convention the episodic format of hitman reboot 1 was actually more beneficial than releasing the game as a single package because they had to focus on one level and make it something that was worth replaying through to get everything on, and challenge yourself, it also added more replayability by making situations like "hm, shit i need this kind of item. and its available as a mastery from this level! i should go through and play the old one" and as a byproduct just improves your skill (if you're new to the game style) i also believe the reboot series peaked with 1 and has only gotten worse, despite some good worthwhile changes being included in hitman reboot 2 and 3

Strongly agree. Releasing the seasons under a same launcher that would get updated would also have been a god sent. Imo Hitman 2 had the best maps tho
@Ma1q4442 жыл бұрын
Hitman 1 had only 3 good maps the rest we’re trash hitman 2 improved on almost everything and hitman 3 maps are better than both combined
