Meh, most of the voice acting in the early games is pretty lackluster, the only one of true note in this game is the voice actor for Ort-Meyer, there’s a lot of character in his performance and cadence, the voice actor really sold it well. Bateson would also come into his own and really begin to embody the character around the time of contracts and blood money. The thing I find much more impressive in the older games is how it had many characters use the language of the locations they were in, instead of just speaking English with American voice actors / accents. Codename 47 tried a lot of concepts, it was certainly more of a “catch all” game testing the waters for what worked and what didn’t as the series begun to find it identity and purpose. It would turn out that it’s identity was best expressed in “traditions of the trade” (as someone whose played through this game multiple times, it’s definitely the high point), and as such it gave us the series that we have today.

Would love a remaster or remake of this game and Silent Assassin. Closest is a mod for Hitman 3 where someone recreated the 3rd mission of Codename 47 using the Chongqing map. They even used the briefing dialogue from Contracts.

Do you experience a black screen when start a new game? If so, cap the frame rate at 60 fps with NV Inspector or NV Control Panel and that should fix the problem

you need to scroll to the other option with a mouse scroll, because the first one selected is the floor you are already on.

Also, looking your settings about the control. It's very confusing by default, so you need to do some changes in order to play with standard keys
