My dream Spider-Man story has been fully planned out. A tv series set in the high school years, as Peter really discovers his identity as Spider-Man. You see his moral code change and develop as he becomes more experienced each season (different high school year). Every episode would be a separate month in the year. With season 1 primarily focusing on the emotional impact of Uncle Ben’s death as I think it’s severely overlooked and can help bring depth to the character Then there would be film setting up the sinister 6 throughout his college career, eventually leading to him defeating them (with a lot in between), then going towards Miles and Ben Reilly’s Spider-Man

I would love an adult Spider-Man who's married and has kids. I think Spider-Man's story's are at their best when Peter's responsibilities in his personal life mirror his responsibilities as Spider-Man. Something that hasn't been touched on in movies so far is Peter disappointing his kids. Imagine how cool it would be if Peter had a little boy who loved Spider-Man, but his relationship with his dad was strained due to him not being there.

Hearing this take on Spidey just reminds me why I love the character of Peter Parker. To me what made Peter Parker so appealing wasn’t the fancy suits or quips or even the powers . But how grounded he is . His day to day struggles are something we all can relate to. His struggles feel real and believable( minus the super hero stuff) What makes Peter Parker great is that he can never have a good life. He never gets a break. That is why he is such a beautiful character. He is the most relatable character in comic book history. Being Spider-Man doesn't make his life better it makes it worse. But despite all that he still keeps on fighting, he remains optimistic and still chooses to be Spider-Man despite the consequences outweighing the benefits. His character is the type of role model kids even adults can look up to and reminds us that we might not be able to be Spider-Man but we can definitely be more like Peter Parker.

As soon as you mentioned Euphoria and The Perks of being a wallflower i was hooked. The cinematography of Euphoria needs to be studied for the ages, the perks of being a wallflower with the energy of all the characters would work so well. But the spontaneousness and looming fear of the villians need rebrand. Now they dont have to be violent and over grotesque with gore galore. But if we started seeing more of the villians eminate the brutality of both homelander and omniman, It would be insane. This could work with Kraven, Jackal, Doc Ock, and Green Goblin. Lastly, Keep the drama and action balanced, have a few episodes slow burn like Breaking Bad. Deep Lore and surreality of adventure time because New York is one big mystery on its own. And keep the characters evolving at a balanced rate. Boom you got one of the greatest Spider-man stories ever

One of the reasons why TV is arguably a better medium for superheroes in general is because it’s easier to depict the true scope of their rivalries with some of their villains without leaving their other villains out. For example, the only way to properly do Batman and Joker’s long-running rivalry on film would be to make Joker the villain of all three films in a trilogy. That wouldn’t work because there are plenty of other Batman villains who are overdue for the cinematic spotlight. But in a TV series, you can have Joker be villain of the week every few episodes while gradually building the tension between them.

I mean it's because Smallville was made with the mindset of just focusing on Clark Kent & not Superman because the showrunners weren't well versed with the comics so they didn't want to piss off fans by doing something that wasn't faithful to the source material. It would also be awesome to get a Spider-Man show like Superman & Lois. Where Peter is a parent juggling his responsibilities as a hero and a father: It could open with Peter heading into an auditorium, all dressed up and giddy. He's arrived early to make his way into the front row. But then, his spider-sense tingles. He hears sirens as squad cars race by. With a deep sigh, he exits the auditorium, runs into the alley, suits up, and jumps high into the sky, following the squad cars as they race into danger. It's Rhino (Or a villain you can use on a TV budget). He's doing Rhino things, spouting Rhino dialogue, Rhinoing all over the place. Spider-Man gets knocked around, says some quips, and slowly wears Rhino down, all the while constantly checking his watch as the minutes count down. Peter beats Rhino, sarcastically thanks the villain for making him late, then races back to the auditorium. He clumsily throws back on his now wrinkled suit and makes it back, but when he arrives, he finds everyone leaving. At the entrance of the auditorium, Peter finds MJ. Their eyes meet and she gives Peter a faint smile, hiding that she is upset. And standing beside her: A young girl with red hair who isn't doing as good at hiding that she is upset. A young girl holding a violin case. A young girl named Mayday. Peter goes over and apologizes for missing her performance before they drive home in silence. MJ puts Mayday to bed and tells Peter it isn't his fault. His powers come with a lot of responsibility, only for Peter to reply: "So does being a father". CUT TO TITLE: SPIDER-MAN & MJ (Or something). Just an idea I randomly had 😁

Psst. The 'Coffee Bean' Saga. aka the 'ESU" saga. Pete. Harry. MJ. Gwen. Flash. I would love to see a show mostly revolving around this friend group and how Spider-Man essentially strengthens and strains these relationships, during their time at ESU. - Pete and Flash initially instigate each other (from old high school wounds), needing Gwen to act a big sis to mediate them. - Peter initially meets chem. major Gwen, but unfortunately fashion major MJ enters the mix. (*insert Spider-Man: Blue love triangle) - Gwen keeps the friend group in check, supportive and a bit of a leader. (like her dad) - Harry tries to be like his dad goes for a bach. of commerce. could lead to him discovering his father's criminal motivations. - Flash's redemption arc and enlisting to the army (because of Spider-Man) is one I NEED to see on screen. - Captain Stacy's death would completely stagger Pete's relationship with Gwen and his morals are questioned. Pushed even further as Gwen dies not knowing Pete's secret, convinced that Spider-Man killed her dad. - Death of Gwen leads to friend group basically broken. Harry into substance abuse. Flash gone into enlistment. MJ desperately trying to avoid any drama and 'party like there's no tomorrow'. - eventually we get the famous Romita panel where MJ refuses to be neglectful anymore and actually try to console a grieving peter and help out a broken harry while she still can. Slowly healing the friend group as much as she can. I'd love to see something that reflects modern day frustrations of college students. Why am I even here? Who am I really? But this could also reflect the thought of HOW we grow up and the people we grow up WITH. Something like this isn't likely to happen, but the idea of Spider-Man basically a drama/soap opera is needs to be more mainstream. Amazing video like always man. cheers

You hooked me at Coffee Bean. As someone who is using that location in my own TASM3 fan script outside of ESU I loved this. I love how all the characters are well thought out and layered. Spider-Man Blue is my favourite Spidey comic and that being the main pitch was great to see. Honestly, a whole season could just be Spider-Man: Blue with the build up to Kraven. I support this pitch. (I also support Spider-Man: Blue being adapted in any way possible…..it’s what I did hours ago)

This!! Absolutely this. You get it. I genuinely had the exact same idea. It's starts with the coffee bean gang. And we see them becoming friends and eventually these are seen as the good ol' days. But even then life wasn't great. Harry with his dad. MJ surviving away from home. Peter and Spider-Man. Gwen eventually with her dad's death. And there's a build up to them unraveling. But it happens after Gwen dies. Like you said. I see this as the first season. In a smallville esque type show. But with a lot more focus on the characters and drama rather than your villain of the week.

From the first V.O. you get the idea of just who Spidey is. He asks "how are you," but the phrase means something more to him. It's not just a greeting. He's legitimately asking about you. He cares for you and about you, and it's the first thing on his mind. Behind the mask and the suit is an sympathetic man who care about people, who puts others before himself. There's a man behind that mask, and we get to learn about him in a *single V.O.* amidst a black screen. Simple and amazing writing! The writing here is superb, and I wish Hollywood wrote Spidey the way you did! You gotta give tutorials for screenwriting or something, man! Good shit!

A live action series is such a good idea! a three movie trilogy just isn't enough with all the good storylines Spider-Man has to explore. Can I just say: What an amazing idea. I knew from the start that this would be a college story, but that was an easy guess lol. I love the idea of MJ being the co-lead, I love the idea of Peter narrating to us and ESPECIALLY seeing Spider-Man and his world from a civilian perspective. Hell, my own idea for a Spider-centric show was about Spidey AND the people of New York: How their lives have changed through their entanglement, whether we see them become better people, or see them turn into the worst versions of themselves-maybe even villians. (I also think it'd be fun if the person under the mask was someone completely new, cuz then the show could have this mystery element, with you wondering if the person you're following IS Spidey or not.) It is pretty different from what we've gotten and it...probably won't happen in our lifetime, but man you're right, it's so damn fun to think about.

The best example of an MCU show that actually took its time and developed all the characters in it throughout several seasons is "Agents of SHIELD". I know people think it's a basic ass show but, it really didn't take that long to get interesting. Throughout most of season 1 we're left wondering how Coulson is alive and for the most part, the beginning just seems like filler agent missions and trying to find more super people... Then around half-way through season 1, Winter Soldier happened and we found our cast of characters in a situation where they don't know who to trust cos, Hydra infiltrated SHIELD and ever since that happened, the show was peak MCU, it got nuts with Inhumans, Ghostrider, Kree, Time Travel, etc but it always felt grounded cos, we had that cast of characters we grew attached to throughout the seasons. If a Spider-Man show could keep that same level of dedication that Agents of SHIELD did to the continuity while giving ample time to all its characters and plots, then I think it would be perfect.

“I’m not reinventing the wheel” you’re not; but I think that’s why this feels so perfect. Alex this video is exceptional. This is what I’ve been saying; Spider-Man should and would work in Television. Honestly this pitch was perfect and I would love to see it come true, with some touches that would obviously be made making the final product better in some aspects and possibly less better in others, but the point of is, this was wonderful. Seeing your videos since back in the day, I’ve seen your love and passion for this character. There’s a sense of true love, passion, and thought being presented that I wish would be present in more Spidey media. Despite having to agree with you on the low chances of it being made, I truly hope that in an age where there is a Spider-Verse, multiple Batmen, and audiences that understand what is happening, that a series following that Wall-Crawler can be made. It’s such a perfect idea, that who knows, may happen one day. I also greatly loved what you said about realism, and not treating this Spidey like someone who has to be family friendly, but can feel real; and yet should also not be sent to the great Euphoria TV-MA extreme, because despite having stories that can go that far, Spider-Man isn’t a character who’s meant to be for mature audiences only. The smallville type realm is where I see him; somewhere around TV-14 with possibly some areas testing the limits. I just loved this video. I don’t feel sad that this may never happen, I’m just happy I got to experience this story you presented, I’m happy I could imagine this what if story, and who knows, may just happen. Thanks for the Story Alex. Thanks for the Video, and it goes without saying but Great Job as always; looking forward to seeing Jason when it comes out!! 🕷️🕸️

I definitely would love to see a college story. I’d use Gwen as Peters love interest and Flash as Peters enemy turned friend. Gwen’s mother died when she was young and her father wasn’t there at her last hours. He dug himself deeper and deeper into his work. Gwen began to resent her father due to this. During a lecture by her father she runs out of the hall and goes up to the roof to get some air. Peter follows her and asks if somethings wrong. Gwen truly opens up to Peter breaking down in front of him. Peter comforts her. At his core he is a flawed man trying to do his best. Gwen and Peter truly understand one another. Gwen however is scared of losing Peter and she runs into the same problem that she ran into with her father. After so many missed dates and parties Gwen leaves Peter with an ultimatum. Tell her what’s really going on or they break up. Gwen is angry that she opened up to Peter and Peter refuses to do the same. So Peter reveals his identity as Spider-Man to Gwen and they agree there won’t be any secrets between them. Flash has dealt with an abusive home life. His father beats him and his mother left due to this father’s actions. Flash perceives himself as weak and he projects that onto Peter. He bullies him to feel a sense of control that he never felt before. However after a while he realises he’s just like his father and he is disgusted by that. He attempts to ask for forgiveness and of course Peter forgives him. The two develop a friendship. Flash moves out from his father’s house and moves in with Peter and his life slowly gets better until he joins the military and Peter and Flash share their heartfelt goodbye.

things Spider-Man needs: - allowed to have a family (most recent comic iteration is on the good path here, although I won't be surprised if they mess it up) - funny quips are only for no-threat enemies or times when Spidey is nervous/uncertain. He has a dark side too, and not only during the symbiote arc - tech and gadgets, but limited due to time and money constrains. Otherwise he gets too close to Iron Man or Batman, but no organic webs either (ew... plus, bring back the 'oh no! run out of web fluid!' problem) - street crime is Spidey's domain too. Not everything he faces has to be supervillians and/or existential threats I think most Spidey fans will agree with that. Now, a more risky take: - clones can be ok, if done right. They can emphasize how great Peter is at fulfilling the Uncle Ben motto. Plus, Scarlet Spider's outfit is just so damn cool. Perfect for film.

I’ve always wanted to see Peter’s anxiety find its way into his powers so he’ll wake up in the middle of the night because his spider sense went off and then he suits up and fights crime then he’s super tired and delirious all the time, which is why he’s late blah blah blah

A tv show where peter parker is always narrating similar to scrubs would be insane.

You know how this could be perfect in? A CARTOON. Spider-Man and superheroes THRIVE in the style of the hand-drawn and the unrealistic. A gritty style of Peter's dangerous and unimaginable alter ego combined with the grounded drama and consequences of his social life are what we want. It may not happen except in our imagination but to be honest, maybe that's all we need.

The comedy landed really well in this video, great video script. I completely agree with Spider-Man being made a series. Edit: I completely understand that this is my fan servicey idea, but in a hypothetical middle of the show. Let’s say he shows up randomly only to be beaten the shit out of aggressively by Peter. Have the Goblin beaten at the beginning of the episode, and explore why Peter was so angry at him during the fight for the rest of the episode. Perhaps we get some Gwen lore, the main thing I’d want to see is the contrast between Peter’s regular Spidey persona, versus how aggressive, and cruel he is when fighting the Goblin.

Hey dude. I was a huge fan of your videos in highschool. I mean HUGE, but afterword's I kind of fell out of them - nothing on your part I was just a lot less critical of media. I've been getting your stuff recommended again now, and this video really rocks. Totally on point with the ego-death comment, you're very self-aware of those who disagree with your style, and you totally welcome it - or at least the script seems like it. Anyway, I just think this is a banger Vid... I was edging the whole time.

Spidey definitely deserves a webseries. I myself had read the spidey comics and always thought a movie cannot deliver everything. We could get so much more through the series. being a kid I had always wanted to see much more of a spidey stuff but as an adult I'm much more interested in Pete, his life , his problems( not binded with the mcu) his relationships, and much more. Also wanna say your video essays are something I adore very much. I always had issues with the mcu Spiderman, it was just like, I couldn't explain why homecoming didn't work for me. But that homecoming video of yours has portrayed whatever I had feeled.

I agree with everything you're saying. One condition is that it needs to have the soundtrack that you used for this video. Imagine the contrast between the flowy synth wave vibe of a 80s arcade as you hear spiderman through the eyes of a child.

I actually like these ideas a lot. And I’ve wondered how one could do the classic “Green Goblin” costume. Do you come with a reason for the mask to fit and move on his or do you just let it be what it is? I don’t know but I’d love to see it.
@HiTopFilms11 ай бұрын
I think either could work? I love the idea of a mask that moves with the face, but an emotionless one could also be terrifying.

The thing we nerds need to feel secure when someone is tasked to adapt our beloved characters is to know that whoever is given the job actually loves the character, we need them to not only undertand why that character is important to people, but to feel what we feel, cry when we cry, love these stories and themes as we do. HiTop, I must praise you for your work. With all the clowns spitting opinions based on nothing, looking at art and analysing every detail through the angry and divisive lens of politics, with no other intention then picking fights to get internet clout, it's people like you that gain the audiences trust. Doesn't matter if we agree or not, everyone can see that you care, that you are just as much of a dork so passionate about these heroes as any of us. I have been watching your videos for a couple years now and the absolute best thing about your channel is how much you care about these stories.

Personally, I would love to see more focus on high school life and see it progress to college life. The Spectacular animated show did it and I remember loving it and hoping that one day a movie or TV show would focus on that. Start with Peter, Gwen and Harry being childhood best friends , with Peter and Gwen having feelings for one another, but clearly being too shy to do something about it, while Harry can see what is going on and makes fun of both of them. Flash and Liz being the popular kids with their own issues, who bully Peter due to him being poor and a nerd. It would be interesting to see Mary Jane being an outsider and slowly get more focus as the show goes on. She was transfered to Peter's school and becomes Gwen's best friend and starts a relationship with Harry. It would be interesting to start with her being kind of shallow and having a party girl personallity, but as time goes on we learn about her father's abusive behaviour and after Gwen dies and Harry starts to deal with drug addiction, she grows closer to Peter, starts to get her shit together and becomes his new best friend. Eventually, they start dating.

I'd love to see an episode where MJ finally drags Peter into a car ride and they share a conversation about wanting to be kids again, remember all the times they spent together. MJ opening her heart to him about her life at home and her POV of their childhood and they connect through that

I really love these ideas, the only nitpick I had even though it's just a show - the idea of Peter going to a "college party" I've gone to college and I have friends who went to different universities, we have been to different parties - they are never dramatic as shown on media or fun, most of the time people are just standing around with loud music and a red cup for alcohol. Like it's always really mild. On top of that Peter much like myself seems like he would at most participate in a friend group halloween party which I think would be a funny bit that would be slightly inspired by Spectacular Spider-Man and Spider-Man PS4 "Halloween parties" - go out to a park, Peter can't get drunk due to his heightened abilities but plays the part of being buzzed/drunk Peter even does Karaoke (a song that fits the theme of the episode). Idk that's just my tweak everything else I loved

I think what would be really good idea is if they do a scarlet spider movie and you can have Spider-Man in it, but we see everything from the point of view of Ben Riley, the anger and hate of Spider-Man turning to to friendship

You know, as a young child my favorite scenes from the movies and cartoons were of Spider-man fighting the wide cast of bad guys. But as I grew older, I understood the importance of the non -costumed cast. Peter, Harry, Gwen, May, Mary. Heck, I even kind of look forward to Flash and Jamison at times when they're explored a bit more. I love these characters, and if a TV show is ever made where they're the A-plot, then it'll have my support.
@EricGraham9426 күн бұрын
I have an addition to this pitch (I’ve even got my own Spider-Man pitch - Alex, let’s collaborate man) - when Peter is a young adult, he’s not as jittery or as quirky (still quirky though) because he’s been grounded by his own responsibilities and struggles into being a young adult and as Spider-Man. And if Peter embodies “with great power comes great responsibility”… he needs to be able to hold not just himself, but even someone like MJ responsible for her own life choices, ie: partying to hide from her family drama. And when Peter and MJ have their fights, it’s not just Peter defending himself - it’s actually letting out his own pain too, ie: “Do you how many times I WISH I could just connect with people? You? … I can’t! Do the math; I literally can’t!” But when Peter and MJ finally do get together, you get this sense of a sweet victory where they went through their own personal hells that TOGETHER… their relationship has become paradise because now they can work and communicate together. As a fashion model and actress, Peter can even expand his photography into fashion photography (she might even flirt on set with him, ie: “lights camera action, tiger.”), and she can even invite him to VIP tables and fashion events so he can make that extra $$$. And for once, finally, as a contrast to the isolated dorky kid in high school… Peter Parker can finally have fun and have a sense of fulfillment in ALL areas of his own life, balancing power and responsibility.
