How are you structuring this performance? Like, what exactly are you triggering? Chunks of breaks? Patterns? Phrases? Long time renoise user here and i play live with it, but not like this! Stellar performance and composition🔥🔥🔥 Also, purple themes are best themes 💜

Thank you for the kind words, friend. I’m triggering patterns and it was made possible by a Renoise update from 2010. The ability to MIDI map ‘play next pattern in the song sequence’. While it’s not visible in this video, there is also a third green instance of Renoise running in the background. That’s the instance I use for chopping up the breaks. In some of my older videos, you may be able to see it more clearly. I am using the pattern command offset 0Sxx to stretch each of my breaks over 8 patterns. Each pattern is very short (only 8 lines) and will contain 1/8 of a drum break. I’ve midi mapped ‘play next pattern' in song sequence to horizontal rows of buttons on this controller. As for the Red and Purple instances that you can actually see in this video, I’m using two send channels for the overall volume of drums and instrumentation. Yes friend, I’ve mapped those send channels to faders. There are various effects mapped on those master channels. Once saved, midi mappings stay locked to these songs and the OHM 64 controller communicates with all instances simultaneously.
