Hitting 200MPH in our Stage 2 F90 M5 at VMAX200

After narrowly missing our 200MPH target at the last VMAX event we attended, we were back to settle the score and earn the car its 200MPH badge.
Having a few more months of tuning development under our belts and Supersprint Manifolds fitted to the car we took to the runway to once again test our hard work.

Standard suspension is back on at the moment, but yes it needs lowering to pull of these wheels fully.

Kudos to that Jag owner for pulling out his XJ220 for VMAX. Btw, the AC Schnitzer M5 tuning gives the car a top speed of around 206 mph on premium petrol, what's the difference between that and the tune you guys are developing?

9 speed auto in the merc gives it the edge in initial acceleration once the longer legged gears come on song the m5 pulls them harder, both top cars

e63 intercooler is not able to keep up. Intake temperatures rise rapidly during hard acceleration and the ECU will intervene when the intake temperature reaches 50°C. At 90° Celsius ECU is cutting tremendous power. This is why it loses out on the top end, it is actually losing power the faster it goes.

@@AmaanKhan-yu1mb almost nobody has upgraded intercoolers on E63 because the options are limited and the upgrades are not very effective - I have seen the logs with upgraded and oem intercoolers. Methanol injection can be very effective at keeping intake temps down.

We discussed this last time on your last vid where i said the great white still rules after u just missed the 200 mark and i mentioned that there must be some transmission loss happening on the f90 as your running more torque then the f10 plus have no wheel spin in gears 1,2,3 and you said it was the head wind that stopped you beating the great white 200 mph run at your last vmax an that transmission loss had no effect etc so iv been waiting for your next trip back and you have confirmed today that there is something definitely slowing you down top end. On this trip you had the perfect wind, awd full traction, extra torque on the zf box, super juice 109 fuel more power, (not sure if you had the supersprint manifold on the f10) and you just matched the great white. The wrench m6 that day i believe did a 199.6 but on previous occasion has done a 206 mph run. Not sounding negative at all although it probably sounds it as it's a great achievement cracking the 200 i just expected a little more from the f90 and for it to at least beat a rwd stage 2 m6 with meth doing 206 mph.

The track is now even shorter. All the vbox data etc shows the F90 is quicker in every situation with the same bolt on mods and tune.

@@EvolveAutomotive i know they shortened it last year i believe but wasnt aware they have again for this event? Even so never doubted 0-60 or 0-100 but 60-130 and vmax with EQUAL power/torque figures from the s63tu and I'm confident the f10/f13 takes it after seeing this, as said the wrench m6 did an amazing time touching yours with a lesser set up and rwd, to add his 60ft will be terrible! as will his 0-100 mph be down from yours by about 2 seconds yet hes only 0.4 mph less at the finish line on the same day?? That says hes making alot of distance up somewhere and not during spinning in gears 1,2,3. I believe the f90 even with all the additional work/power you have over the f10 even with uprated bigger turbos will never beat tommy's 214 mph run which has him spinning till 3rd and short shifting to make that record. I was kinda hoping it would beat that time in the future to keep bmw up there in the record books but im now confident its not happening as 5 mph difference is worlds apart let alone 14 mph.
