Excellent jumping Kara and Tom, fun to watch! When I started riding a few years ago at the young age of 56, I had zero interest in jumping. I really like slower challenging bumpy/technical trails. But after watching your jump progression I now sometimes use bumps and roots to jump over other and clear the next bump/root. You're a good influence Kara! If only we had a bike park here like the one in this video...

I've started following Rachel Atherton recently and it's really cool that you too are representing the females out here in KZbin land. What's doubley cool is that you are relatively at the beginning of your MTB journey so also giving something relatable to the newbies or not so Pilgrim'esque in their abilities (like me). EXCELLENT PROGRESSION!!! It seems you are now really comfortable in the air and are now landing with the bike nose down to match the landing angle, instead of trying to stretch the jump by keeping the nose up.

Yo! just a thought, which really helped me... Learning to bunny-hop is super helpful. Gets you using the bike with authority. Which translates really well to the jumps. Awesome location you've got there... very jelly

You're so awesome! I'm just getting my first mountain bike and I want to start doing stuff like this. It looks like so much fun! Can I ask you some newbie questions? :D How do you know if your bike is capable of doing these jumps and stuff? (Mine is a £450 hardtail, so entry level but ok I think?). And also, how do you know what is coming up on a trail/line? Do you just go round it slow the first time to get a feel for it, then keep going round on it properly afterwards and progressing? xx
