@@Hittingitsolid stuck a comment on today's :) your video today was on something if been thinking about recently . New back to golf this year ,trying to find a swing again ,less flexible less distance and poorer strikes . Shortening up the swing makes so much sense for me .

Really excellent drill! Thanks. It takes a lot of focus to perform this during a complete round of golf. Just shows how much focus it takes to be a tour player.

I just started doing this with my driver and I noticed how it felt like I wasn't using my arms at all, effortless power indeed! When you say feel the "stretch" at 7:50, should I be feeling the stretch on the arm, the leg, or the torso?
@Hittingitsolid
@Hittingitsolid 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dang, it would be more so the torso.
@dannyboi92129
@dannyboi92129 2 жыл бұрын
@@Hittingitsolid so the weight should start shifting before the arms come down, correct? I noticed it's much easier to do with a driver than irons. Should I be trying to do the exact same thing with my irons?
@Hittingitsolid
@Hittingitsolid 2 жыл бұрын
@@dannyboi92129 Yes, that's right. And yes, the same process with the irons as well. Thanks.

Thanks for the video. If I already have solid mechanics and positions in my back swing, will this thought promote the same effect you are describing? "From the top of the back swing, get your weight to the lead heel, whilst keeping your back to the target for as long as you can"
@Hittingitsolid

Troy, in other words would it be correct to say that hip rotation should should be ahead of club rotation? Is this what is meant by ‘clearing the hips’?
@Hittingitsolid
@Hittingitsolid 3 жыл бұрын
Yes John, I think that's a good feeling to have. Correct, clearing the hips is vital. Cheers

great stuff!.. I feel when going from bow legged squat position and rotating hip and body thru ..there is so much pressure on the front leg foot .. does the rear hip swing round or should the feeling be to keep rear hip back? cheers
@Hittingitsolid

Thanks Kev. For me, I like to feel as though the lead hip stays back a bit more until after impact. Cheers

At 8:35 you made a statement that most people miss. Here it is. "with a lot of practice you can get that built into your game." 99% of us don't have time for 'a lot of practice'

Great video Troy. I have a question, maybe you can give me some good advice. I’m sort of a mid handicap golfer. My scorecard is always par, bogey, par, par, bogey, bogey par…you get the idea. Haha. I’ve been playing 1987 Titleist Tour model Box Blades (not too forgiving but feel great when i hit it good) and am wanting new irons. Ive looked for KZbin videos and reviews but it seems like I can never get good info. It seems like all the reviewers are doing it just to promote a product and are getting paid for it so it’s hard to tell what is legit. How do you recommend I go about finding irons? I don’t live anywhere near a place that has a selection to test. I’m at a loss. Do you have any recommendations on irons that would be great for someone like me? Thank you!

Hey, thanks for the comment. If you're not able to get to a golf shop or facility to get fitted and test. I'd recommend an iron that is part cavity and part blade. By the sound of it you're good enough to use these. They offer a combination of forgiveness whilst still providing a great strike for distance. It's good to always test different brands and models to see what feels right to you. However, if you're not able to do that and need to order online for example. I've always like Mizuno irons as they are some of the best around. I recently surveyed this on KZbin and many golfers are using them. For your level of golf probably something like the Mizuno MP20 MMC irons. There are many different brands which I'm sure all work well, but from personal experience, Mizuno does a great job. If you can somehow get fitted up for these or something similar i'd definitely recommend it. It's important to get the right length, and set up for your irons and all clubs. Let me know how you go or if you have any further questions. Cheers

@@Hittingitsolid wow thank you so much! I’m glad you mentioned Mizuno because I have been liking those from what I’ve seen so far. So would something in between be like a “Muscle Back”? I hope to get fitted soon. Gotta save that money first. 😄 Thank You very much!
