Episode 1 of 2 on item tech! In this first episodes we'll cover all the fundamentals of how items work since they can be unintuitive. It's a long one but there's just a lot of intricacies to cover. Enjoy.

THIS IS A RE-UPLOAD. I discovered some stuff that made what I said in the video inaccurate and I couldn't sit on that so I fixed it and re-uploaded. If you saw this already, no need to watch again but be sure to know: Tilt = 3 frames item catch window BUT Aerials/DA have a 5 frame catch window! And if your aerial is less than 5 frame start up, you can catch items with a hitbox out!!

Two items you don’t have listed are wario bike (though I get it cause that’s different) and sheiks underinsured burst grenade.

I had thought of Wario bike but it’s a bit different right? Like you can’t catch it mid air or walk/dash normally with it, no zdrop stuff, it’s close though. I had no idea Sheik’s grenade could become an item wow I’ll look into that, thanks

@@hivesteel yeah wario bike is considered a “large” item so it makes sense to not include it. I meant to type “undetonated” instead of “underinsured”, but sheiks undetonated burst grenade is an item that appears when sheik gets hit while she is doing side b. It’s very uncommon.
