Not really, you can found out by either, playing the character or, if you go to tips or whatever you call it, it eill tell you what the characters can do. Like for instance, luigi's side special has an chance to shoot outward instantly without charging.

I know some players were hiding some secret tech and bugs until the game stopped getting updates so it wouldn’t get patched.

Funnily enough this is ACTUALLY how it works in actual castlevania where the dangling whip is always an active hitbox it's a good shield against small enemies like medusa heads and poison worms that die in one hit anyways. The Caviat that it had to be moving was added to smash likely for balancing purposes cause as you can see it would be kinda broken otherwise.

No no, orb is the right word actually. It's an old school gamer terminology. It is a reference to the hit box at the end of the flail. It is a reference to the hitbox, or in those case, hit...orb? Anyways, the hitbox on a characters body were polygons, with sharp edges, back in the 90s anyways, so these were called hit box. Just info
