I know this is a joke, but as a real doctor and having attended many surgeries, there are some processes that time is necessary and a lengthy check is more important to avoid bleeding after surgery than being fast during the surgery. (Not to mention that this would be pretty dangerous as human tissue can be very weak sometimes). It would be very fun to watch though, and probably this can help to develop better robotics for surgery (robotic surgery is pretty common nowadays in some situations)

If someone is interested, the original paper for the robot hand is from 2003, it's called: Akio Namiki, Yoshiro Imai, Masatoshi Ishikawa, and Makoto Kaneko : Development of a High-speed Multifingered Hand System and Its Application to Catching

idk how this got back into my homepage but i watched this video like 10 years ago. im glad to see it still exists and so many people have seen it. edit: never mind, i watched a lot of the actions as gif's proabaly on some meme site (reddit didnt exist then) and this video actually explains how the robot has a tactile feedback, which i didn't know... how is this not in cybernetic prothesis already? oh wait it was picked up by the military and now probably classified except this video which was probably a college thesis.
