So in the uk you can put a licence plate number in to the MOT check online and see the vehicles MOT history… then see some the issues that it’s had over the years, including rust repairs etc! So if someone selling isn’t willing to give you the number, they’re hiding something!

That’s interesting. I understand why people are afraid of scammers and rip off artists here, but the smudging of the license plate thing doesn’t make sense to me. They are literally showing their license plates to thousands of people every time they drive their vehicle.
