200 grams of a difference is huge. That’s the same weight as an iPhone 16 pro max. I’ve gone from the 90 to the 90s. I had a 90s carbon but it was slightly noisier than the pim version so I sold it and have the non carbon. It’s a fantastic helmet. Comfortable quiet (although this is subjective as it’s quieter on my sv650 than my gsx-s1000f) I won’t be going to the 91. It’s just too heavy. One of the reasons I ended up with the 90 was I had the agv sport compact because of the weight but it didn’t fit my head shape. I searched for the closest weighted rival then came across the HJC. Nearly 1800 grams in a helmet that is “premium” is madness in this day and age.

Thank you for this comparison, but you didn’t talk about noise? We know the 91 is king, but is the 90 near as good?

We measured the RPHA-90S (Carbon) at an average of 97DB, and the RPHA-91 at an average of 95DB.

The 90S is a much better helmet, not as bulky and heavy. I have both . The 90S hands down is better

@@Championhelmets The RPHA 91 is much larger and heavier than the 90S. Also, the 90S is more aerodynamic. The RPHA 91 is slightly more comfortable to wear. But neck fatigue sets in fairly soon, and the helmet is not nice to wear after some time. I actually found a new carbon 90S that was on discount due to being discontinued. And am very happy with it. Helmets are getting too big and heavy due to the new ECE standards.

​​@@ChampionhelmetsI purchased also 90s carbon instead of 91, tested both. the visor of 91 is shaking and seems thinner. Also 90s has much nicer small design elements. Buy 90s or wait for 92
