HJC V10 Helmet Review

Here at Urban Rider, the HJC V10 has been one of the most anticipated helmets in recent memory. Ever since we saw the pre-production sample, we knew we were in for a treat. The V10 sports a slightly aggressive, retro design but is packed with modern safety features and creature comforts. We hope there’ll be some stock left for the rest of you when we’re done with them. Highly recommended!

I’m diggin’ the design / style of this lid … likin’ the 6 round air vents … I’m a XL intermediate oval and normally wear an Arai Regent X which fits me perfectly and is fairly quiet, wondering if this will be similar ?? Thanks 4 the review!

Wow! the v10 version on the video have vents on the back and a different breath deflector! As the v10 model here in the Philippines lacks the back vents, which would be perfect in particular during hot weather, I hope HJC will give us with this model.

Besides that, we don’t have any smoke or other visors except for the included clear lens. Hoping for the smoke lens becomes available in the Philippines soon.

@@JackMihoff6969 In Malaysia they are selling the helmet with clear and smoke visors, + pinlock all in one package. I thought this would be an Asian thing so it is surprising to hear they don't do the same in the Philippines. Although to be fair, I have found zero signs anywhere of buying individual visors yet.

Been looking at a lot of retro styled helmets. As soon as I laid my eyes on this (and the price) I knew this was the one. The brands you guys in the UK or US consider affordable are at the top end of pricing in my country. Of course Shoei and Arai are typically expensive too. Disregarding the price, the design is still very nice. 22.06. In my country the primary distributor is selling it with clear and smoke visors, plus the pinlock all in one package. Now how come you guys get the helmets with the exhaust at the back?! I physically tried one on, the exhaust vents were not there. Speed Addicts did a review and they too had lids with no exhausts. What's going on??

Recently bought one of these in deep green. Fabulous looking helmet. Comfortable and light. One criticism tho, the chinstrap and loops feel pretty cheap and there's not as much padding around the strap as my other Shark helmets. No integrated sun visor and not great with glasses or sunglasses. Great for riding my older bikes though!

I've had it for a few months now. I love it. The only issue I have is if you ride around with the visor full open, it whistles like crazy so you really want to close the visor, even in the heat. Simply cracking it open greatly increases the airflow.

It's only one feature away from being the perfect retro helmet, a drop down sun visor, but it's still better than all its main rivals like shoei glamster and arai conceptx.

Hi, did you check into the Scorpion EXO-HX1? It has the inner drop down sun visor and the full face screen shield which you also can replace by a sun peek in summer to ride just with the inner sun visor (or even with goggles) for maximum wind flow. It's looking like the most seasonable and versatile helmet in that vintage/neo-retro/street-fighter/cafe-racer style category imho. 👍

How is the fit with glasses?. This seems to have rear vents. In other video's and pictures I've seen show no vents which did put me off. Do the uk versions have vents in the rear?

I want one but am concerned that the RPHA 11 that everyone goes on about like some sort of gold standard looks like it would ruin your day in a side impact according to SHARP - appalling score! So how safe is the V10 (did it pass the 22.06 by much, for instance)?

I have both Sena 50s Cardo packtalk edge -used direct wired connection via moulded ear plugs - sound quality better on Cardo no issues in 3 yrs uk thunderstorm with Sena. Sena connections are more technical prob better more secure more options Cardo voice commands better

Just bought one I follow the size guide but it’s almost impossible to get my head into it. The foam on the jaw crushes my cheeks and is very uncomfortable, I don't know if it will get better with time.

Got to be better than the HJC that I have the catch on the bottom of the visor, my helmet visor broke 3 times in under a year it's hanging up gathering dust bought a shark replaced 1 visor in 4 years, this looks a better system, I had a Griffin helmet late 1970s that had a similar system no thumbscrew a little screw take out with a screw driver, brilliant system then ,

Is anyone having issues with this helmet causing pressure on the top front of their head? Basically right at or above your hairline. I get a lot of pressure that is then painful after about 45 minutes of wearing the helmet. I looked inside and the liner has 3 different panels of material that are stitched together at this point. If anyone else is experiencing this discomfort can you share what you have done to alleviate the issue?

I have this helmet for a couple of months and I really don’t recommend it. Looks very cool but you can’t ride with the visor open. The whistling sound is incredibly loud.
