I love that HK went the extra mile with the MP5 to have an actual locking bolt. Straight Blowback is cheaper and easier to make, but the smooth feeling that you get from that roller delayed action is great for such a small caliber

On H&K's Official Facebook page someone made a comment about importing specific guns into the US and H&K replied stating that they recently jumped through all the hoops to start importing MP5's.

Sell? this is going to flop on it's face so hard its not going to be funny, 2600 bucks for a hard to use pistol? mind you the place is flooded with 9MM carbines that sell for half the price with twice the features. a fucking G3 clone can be had for less then half the price, made on old HK machinery. Also HK does hate the civilian market, notice HK's biggest competitor, FN just builds EVERYTHING in the US, makes a killing off it it, now you can get replica anything FN makes, including the M249 [because why not?] HK is the Colt of europe, only when they lose military contracts do they panic and start selling stuff to the civil market, hence why HK nearly went bankrupt more then once.

I had a double pushpin gun years ago. It was a Billiatics (yes with an I) built by Bill Wittenstein. As I understand, they're fairly rare. I bought it back when they were around $15,000. I got a little more than that when I sold it. I think they're over $30,000 now.

I know this is a really late reply, but semi-auto submachine guns themselves are very under-rated as a genre of guns. They get criticized for not having full auto capability, when full auto fire itself isn't that practical. With semi-automatic fire out of an MP5 you of course have something less powerful than a rifle or intermediate cartridge, but with much higher accuracy, controllability, and capacity than a pistol. For the money having a 50+ year old designed semi-auto subgun isn't "practical" compared to an M4 or a cheaper PCC, but if you just have a thing for MP5's there's really nothing close to a substitute.

The navy never used 10mm guns, but they have used burst packs.

Seals did to the best of my knowledge. I may be wrong but when I planned to build one, I swore that FBI HRT and SEALS both used 10mm and SEALS had the four position safeties. Oh well, I coulld always be wrong.
