Absolutely gorgeous. It’s funny, I sold my Scar 17 (for a lot more than what I initially paid) thinking I was done with proprietary .308 platforms. Then I found your channel and quickly became obsessed with 417’s and MR762’s.
@KenshiroSevenScars27 күн бұрын
I have both. Decided to sell the MR762 and keep my Belgium Scar. After the disappointment that continues to be HK with them choosing to not give us CL barrels, I decided to stick to the Scar system. Plenty of time behind the 16 and 17, plenty of spare parts and tools. Still love HK pistols though. HK Rifles just aren’t worth it to me. To each their own

Funny you said that comment about the flashhider. I eventually called HK and they were willing and able to remove the flash hider off. total turn around was less than a week

Thanks for watching! Total weight of the build with the current SLH762 suppressor is 12 lbs 9 oz / 5.7 kg. I'm planning to switch out the suppressor to a CAT ODB 718 in the future.

Hey man I really love your content and following your builds ! I just wanted to ask your opinion since you have both mr556 and mr726 I currently have the mr556a1 all stock I’m going to do some optics and stuff soon but I can’t stop wanting the my762a1 and I found one locally at my shop I go into and I really want to get it would you recommend having both of them from your ownership experience would you still have both or would you build something different in the 308 platforms I love h&k and I think you can’t go wrong with them I would be doing a long range spec setup on that one and keeping the 556 as a tactical toy that would get most of the upgrades as of right now thank you any advice helps also the one is a long range package super expensive but its all I can get here locally right now and want to jump on it but not sure if it’s worth it or waiting for a4 model thank you
@Feldmutze16 сағат бұрын
I'm liking both the MR556 and MR762 still and I'd absolutely buy them again if I had to choose. The MR762 LRP is grossly overpriced and you'd be much better off waiting for an MR762A4 especially with the improvements they made on the A4. They're already showing up on a few stores so I don't imagine it will be too long for the A4s to proliferate.

Doesn’t the newer March Shorty not require a proprietary mount anymore?
@Feldmutze3 ай бұрын
I didn't know that so thanks for pointing that out. The new Gen 2 Shorty uses a straight 34mm tube so it can use any mount. I was only aware of the Gen 1 before now.

Im with you ab the 16inch is getting short for hunting w a 308...i plan to use my sig spear this season and i took a large 8 point whitetail last season w a 16in budget ar10 and almost didnt find it...was ab a 160 yard poke...im almost commited to only using 150 or 168 grain loads to keep the velocities acceptable...on him i had used a precision hunter 178 gr eld x or whatver it is and i wasnt that impressed
@Feldmutze3 ай бұрын
I usually use 165 gr. Barnes TTSX and those shoot pretty well out of my rifle. I haven't tried actually hunting with the Precision Hunter rounds but I tested them in gel a while back and they fragmented quite a lot and barely penetrated the gel, so it could have been some with the bullet too.

@@Feldmutze yea if we were on social media or something I could show you some pics of deer and wound but the shot was fine...it was also like 7 degrees that afternoon so he didn't start leaving a bld trail for ab 50 yards and he wound up going ab 150yrds...I had given up on the buck but in a hail Mary attempt went back just to look 1 more time and wound up stumbling into the bld trail.. it was really a miracle....got a dog to come and they found him in ab 30 seconds

Whats the difference besides 416 is 556? And HK-417 Is 762?
@Feldmutze2 ай бұрын
The 417 is essentially a scaled-up 416, and since that's the case, there's next to no parts compatibility between the two despite the similar outward appearances.

Ambi controls have to be the most overblown feature.
@Feldmutze3 ай бұрын
I like ambi controls quite a bit personally, even for primarily right-handed use it makes some manipulations just a bit more comfortable to do in certain positions. They're definitely not a total game changer though.

@Feldmutze27 күн бұрын
What issues did you run into with them? Without any detail there really is no value to what your saying.
@KenshiroSevenScars27 күн бұрын
@ I’m not trying to add any value. I’m not going to go into detail on KZbin either. I’m just saying anonymously that I wasn’t really thrilled with how the process went on my MR762. Anodizing can go wrong also and they are not responsible according to the fine print. I just don’t think my MR762 project was worth it. My Scar 17 and Scar 16 are better rifles than the civilian HK options. To each their own. FWIW, fantastic videos. Not trying to hate.
@Feldmutze27 күн бұрын
Gotcha, I was just wondering since I've only seen positive reviews of Black Ops Defense, so seeing a negative review I naturally want to know more about what happened but from the sound of it they had an issue with the anodization which, from the two projects I had with them, always seems to be a sticking point.
@Audi8726 күн бұрын
I literally had a phone call with Wes at Black Ops defense. He told me a lot of “complaints” are due to people not getting immediate turn arounds with their rifles, extended wait times because a customer forgot to send a part in, or things get extended due to life but you still get excellent service. I’ve noticed a lot people are quick as hell to bash a company when told “4-12 weeks” and it ends up being 16 weeks. “tHeY aRe hOrRiBLe I wAs prOmiSeD tWo wEekS” yea ok because that’s reality
@KenshiroSevenScars23 күн бұрын
@ it wasn’t about turnaround time my guy. I’ve purchased many custom jobs over the years. I understand the wait times far more than most and expect it. If I wanted to bash the company, I would go into detail. All I said was I wasn’t impressed. Calm down
