I’ve now shot roughly 500 rounds of the Soviet Arms 122 grain FMJ ammunition. One purchase was when it first came out and it was in the 250 round ammo can. The second purchase was as individual 20 round boxes. I had similar results with both purchases and all 3 of my guns love it (M70, KR-103, SA GF3). Groupings have all held fine out to 100 and 200 yards, though I have no data to present from my experience. No failures of any kind and I’ve used 4 different magazine manufacturers. I will continue purchasing this ammunition as a way to invest in American Manufacturing. Is it gold, no, but it functions just fine and I assume they will continue to make improvements. My two cents isn’t worth a penny, but I thought I’d share. Thank you for all the videos you’ve provided us!

I know im comparing apples to oranges, but in terms of PSA's track record, I've have nothing but good experiences. I got their M110 clone, only ever 2 malfunctions from improperly tuned gas block (2 clicks over fixed it, and it was the first time i fired it). Their 168gr .308 OTM was grouping in the rifle at 1-1.5 MOA at 100 yards and had more consistency than the Federal Gold Medal match of the same spec using SMK bullets. Another thing to note is that all of the OTM ammo I've purchased from PSA has had a lot more consistency with the hollow point geometry, having less off center cuts and less rounds with visually damaged tips. So, from my experience, no issues. The rest of their stuff, no idea though, but their .308 works.

Agreed. I'm thinking of either trying a face mount or probably just doing all future AK precision tests w/o a muzzle device at all. So far I've found it seems to be an issue across the board even with nicer muzzle devices most likely because they're just retained by the front sight pin rather than torquing all the way down.

Acceptable = isn't required to be thrown in a trash bin? I mean, around 5 MOA (15 cm at 100 m to be precise) in the maximum four round group which does not require you to immediately see your weaponsmith, it isn't like a standard spread.

Why are you excluding flyers?
@Feldmutze
@Feldmutze Күн бұрын
Flyers, in most cases, are statistical anomalies so it doesn't make sense to include them. For instance if in a 10-shot group all the rounds land in a similar pattern but including a flyer would then double the size of the group it's not realistic to include that since the average dispersion is really significantly lower.

I just got the Recessed Night Howler and apparently Wolfpacks muzzle devices are only compatible with their mount. I have the Rearden Atlas mount on my can and it doesn't lock up nearly as tight as the rearden muzzle devices. From what I found out , Wolfpack uses a 24° taper when the Plan B's like Rearden are 25°... They are supposedly fixing this issue, I just haven't reached out to them yet...

@paroxami 8 күн бұрын
@@Feldmutze Rearden was actually the ones who found out about the taper issue with the Wolfpack muzzle devices and you can find the thread on the NFA subreddit. From what I gather it seems like Wolfpack's stuff will have no problem when mated with their products, but the compatibility issue arises when you use other Plan B adapters like Rearden's. Wolfpack said they're addressing the issue and are working on an updated version of the Night Howler with proper taper angle. I have the Revival Defense 3P15 on my 11.5" and 14.5" and it's been performing excellently in terms of flash mitigation. What's nice about it is that unlike other muzzle devices with tines, this one doesn't ring at all unlike the Surefire 3 prong.

I asked CAT about this. They do not recommend using mounts like this paired with flash hiders due to severely cutting down the distance to the blast baffle. It will probably be ok but just be aware you are decreasing performance and probably introducing more stress to the blast baffle. I would use the reared minimalist muzzle device if you want to you use a low profile hub mount.

So you’re saying a mount like this but more of a muzzle brake style would be better? I believe Wolfpack is making something similar
@Lilfishproduction2
@Lilfishproduction2 8 күн бұрын
@@WindowsPlaysFPS no I’m referring to the how short the hub mount is. You either need to use a standard length hub mount to increase the distance to the blast baffle or use the rearden minimalist muzzle device which is basically just a muzzle device with threads and no flash hiding capability’s. Also I’m not trying to be a hater I actually own the exact same hub mount in the video but I checked everything with a bore scope to see how close I was to the blast baffle and that’s what gave me the thought to reach out to CAT. Moving the muzzle device away from the blast baffle increases blast chamber volume. This typically helps reduce things like first round pop. 3 prong style muzzle devices typically abuse blast baffles more so than breaks. I suggest standard Rearden Atlas type mounts. The mount needs to have a back cut to keep blast chamber volumes up.. On a 556 you want about 2.5” from the recess in the mount to the shoulder in the tube/can..

I would not use the Rearden 13/16ths crowsfoot wrench. It's only 3/8ths drive for one thing and its only .2500" thick which is great SOMETIMES but for installation it sucks. It slips easily and can be deformed very easily too. Mine is no longer in specc and I only torque to 30ft/lbs. The rearden wrench sucks. I actually prefer FCD Plan B mounts for this reason alone. The FCD Plan B mounts use 3/4ths wrench flats which is just more robust imo. I use the FCD armorers wrench. Plus, 3/4th" flats are what most other muzzle devices use so if you already have an armorers wrench for say...surefire muzzle devices or whatever then you won't need a new tool.
@Feldmutze
