I own many HK's. The p2000/ 2000sk are my absolute favorite for ccw over any other of their models. There's so many trigger variants offered to get the setup you want. I'll never get rid of mine.

Besides an optic mount, i really dont know what you are talking about by "premium features". The fit and finish on these guns are still better than most of the modern options and Ive been looking at it because HK is one of the only manufacturers that makes FULLY ambidextrous handguns. I agree the DA trigger is awful, but most of the interest in these is on the LEM.

I still the think the craftsmanship and quality of this classic is still better than 80% of the guns today. Features are prehistoric but this would be a great gun for shtf.

“Has a plastic hammer “ Where ? “It’s not a premium gun “ Hk has the strongest barrels and the longest lasting guide rod system period . I’ve owned all modern designs and no one else is made better and HK has the longest lasting pistol designs as far as parts breakage as well . Literally the dumbest review I’ve ever heard.

I own many pistols and this is by far the best concealed carry option I have. It is the perfect size in my opinion for carry and is extremely ergonomic. This thing shoots like a dream and is very accurate. Fit and finish is better than almost anything out there in its price range today. Stock trigger is not amazing like most hk’s but you can upgrade it for cheap with Hk short reset trigger kit. Carrying it decocked is perfect and I would prefer this to having an external safety. Definitely a very underrated pistol and anyone who has one is sure to agree.

Underrated HK model right there. I’m thinking about getting one to go along with my p30sk. It’s perfectly sized for ccw shorter grip than a full size p30, also it’s still used by US BP if I remember correctly. I’m all about hammer fired guns lately. This thing is so reliable you can take it to hell and back and it will keep going.

I wanted to try an H&K hammer/decocker pistol after shooting strikers for years. Picked up a new V-3 H&K P2000 six months ago, knowing it would require some reworking. Added an extended magazine release lever, 11# hammer spring, aftermarket trigger return spring, and to address the lack of effective stippling on the grip, I added Handleitgrip grip tape cut for the P2K - terrific stuff. Picked up a few VP9 17 round mags and added X-Grip spacers. 13+1, or 17+1, still easily concealable, and utterly reliable. Love it.

Dude I ordered my extended mag release switch from HK and It wouldn’t work on the first go, always released the second time I pull it. Luckily I found an easier way to use the factory switch. Just wish I didn’t spend so much on the damn thing

I carry my P2000 with a 15+1 VP9SK magazine. Swap the baseplate and it is a flush fit replacement for the 13+1 magazines it comes with. Exactly the same size as those mags just holds 2 more rounds.

The fact that the 2000 is tried and true. It’s track record deletes the fact that it’s not the flavor of the month. I’d take a firearm with a long record of excellence over a new pistol that doesn’t have the time under its belt. Just my opinion 🤷‍♂️

Milled slide with a holosun 508t, converted trigger from da/sa to 4.1 LEM with gg short reset. Suppressor height night sights, tlr-7a, slim slide release. Lighter hammer spring. Tack driver and extremely reliable

Thanks for the review 1776. Good looking gun. I’m not sure I agree this gun is outdated. If this gun came with an optic cut I think it would be the ideal carry firearm. I have spent a lot of time with the micro 9s (p365xl, hellcat, etc) and found myself drifting back to larger frame guns as I can conceal them just fine. The P2000 is just a better USP to me. It is just the right size for carry, my LEM version has a great trigger (admittedly I tinkered with it), and of the several HK guns I have the p2000 is the most accurate in my hand. I am not a big HK fan as I was unimpressed with both my P30 and VP9, but I am a P2000 fan. I think it stacks up with the current striker fired staples such as M&P, Glock 19, FN509, etc. Honestly I just wish I could get mine optic cut.

I have had a love/hate with my P2k. It was a V2 LEM. After a couple bad malfunctions and a parts breakage I shelved the gun. Ultimately i decided not to give up so I replaced the broken slide release lever, put in a light TRS, Lazy Wolf Enhanced FPBS, and Lazy Wolf 11lb hammer spring which yielded a very clean and consistent 4lbs 8oz LEM trigger. I don’t think the P2000 is subpar for 2022. It could use a reboot, but it’s still a good pistol. It’s ambi, the v1 is good, capacity is fine, but probably needs to be 15 rounds to make people happy. Put some front serrations on it, RDS cut it, new grip texture and the gun would sell very well. I don’t care what anyone says, there is a response/feeling/rhythm a hammer fired pistol gives a good shooter that a stirker fired gun never will, even an HK LEM with the right springs.

When did the Beretta Storm become a "premium" pistol? And we all know HK makes junk ( obvious sarcasm). Yes I've shot the PX and yes I found nothing of value there. The grip, the ergos or the fact that you can't find a holster just to name a few. And like women, looks do actually matter....the Storm is the girl nobody wants to dance with.

The P2000 is one of the most perfect EDC guns. I don't know how your trigger pressure got to be so insanely heavy but mine was never so heavy. I think the grips are perfect for IWB carry. The front and strap are rough enough to ensure a good grip but the side panels don't eat your torso. I actually use the XL back strap. With it planted in the crease of my thumb, the pad of my trigger finger lands right on my trigger. It is a 40 S&W but is much softer shooting than any other compact 40 I've shot. I had Bill Springfield do some work on the trigger. He reduced the travel of the take-up and reset considerably for a reasonable price. I love my P2000. It is as close to perfect for me as I've found.

Not sure why everyone needs all this flashy crap on a pistol... Red dots on pistols is cheating, if you need one in order to shoot a pistol and hit something then you need training on iron sights... The p2000 is ambi, has a pinky ride, looks sexy as hell, can mount a light, decocker, can run after being dipped in mud... What the hell else do you ppl need?? Pretty machining on the slide?

I don’t judge HK pistols by their normal triggers (DA/SA), but their LEM triggers. Huge difference, and a big game changer. HK needs to bring that system into the forefront. Truly the greatest innovation to all hammer fired systems in this generation. Buy a LEM conversion kit and send it to your gunsmith to convert it. You won’t be disappointed. LEM FTW.

Thanks for the video. I will say that HK does offer the P30 series, which includes some of the ergonomic improvements you mentioned. And while I generally find DA/SA Sigs and Berettas to be better shooters than HKs, I think the merit of an HK goes beyond just the features--you're paying a premium for unquestioned, military-grade durability, reliability and mechanical excellence. Nothing--in my experience--compares to the steel used in an H&K barrel. The finish on the slide is the toughest I've ever seen. They're just... beasts. And I think they're as accurate as anything, but, again... I find a Sig P239 (for instance) to be more shootable than a P2000 or even a P30.

My first HK was going to be a USP .45, but the P2000 had just come out, so I got one in .40 and it was awesome. I have owned several over the years as well as all the USP/C’s in 9/40/45/357. I currently own and carry a VP9. I like them all, preferably in light LEM configuration for the hammer guns. P.S. “premium” means nothing to me. If I like a gun, I like it and will try to find the best price for purchase. I think if you want something, regardless of what others deem premium/semi custom, you’re going to pay whatever price you pay for it, because no one is forcing you. So, there’s no need to justify buying or not buying because of whatever an individual’s opinions are. I or anyone else does not need to do so. One can own a basic GLOCK or 1911 for $600ish or go Gucci for $2k-5K+

I just can’t resist the colored frame HK pistols... The HK Bug bit me hard and the infection went systemec almost immediately... I do want to mention that I have taken one of my P2k pistols to Many training classes and have put it through absolute hell, through every type of environment and weather... Many, Many thousands of rounds shot in short time, and I have never had one single issue, stoppage, malfunction or otherwise... It has been 100% reliable... It is a really good feeling Knowing that I can trust my life, and the lives of my loved ones to a piece of equipment that is so reliable.... If I had to navigate through any hostile environment you can bet 100% that I will have an HK with me.... Their pistols are literally bombproof, and the workmanship is second to none... Am I a fanboy?? I am proud to say that I am.. My firsthand experience of deliberately being harsh on a few different examples of their pistols gives me the knowledge and confidence that I need so as to be able to not have to second guess, or question the quality of my weapon or it’s functionality.... All that said, please tell me where you purchased that colored frame P2K, and what other colors do the P2K frames come in... and do they make factory colored slide ones as well, like the HK45/ HK45c.... FIRST, you are not picking this pistol up used for 450.00-500.00, and like anything else in the world, you pay more for the name and reputation of a company. Some people would rather drive a Volkswagen OVER a BMW, ALSO EVERY GUN MAKER HAS A LOWER TIER OFFERING AT A AFFORDABLE PRICE SUCH THE P2000. I would rather buy a H&K P2000 OVER A BERSA FOR 200.00 MORE. YOU ARE GIVING YOUR OPINION ONLY, YOUR'E NOT TALKING FOR A BUNCH OF PEOPLE.

I got rid of mine when ditched all my .40 cal firearms. I’d get free ammo so when that finally dried up I already made a switch to 9mm. I’d get another but my biggest gripe with Hk is size/capacity and you tend to get something better for less $$$

Wow. Your analysis is very shallow and uninformed. The P2000 was selected in 2004 by the U.S. government, in the largest contract ever filled for a service pistol in history. A torture test using three MILLION ROUNDS the P2000 passed. DHS/ICE, and the Border patrol started carrying the P2000 in .40 caliber. It was and still is a great service pistol, and is still being sold today by HK. I bought a P2000 v2 LEM in 9mm, brand new, recently, and is as relevant today as it was in 2001, when it was first introduced. Outstanding pistol.
@1776orbust
@1776orbust 6 ай бұрын
So does that mean it's modern? It wasn't a shallow review it was a question about it's relevancy considering the options of modern pistols. I have 2 lem's and don't have any Long term issues with either. 3 million rounds through 300 pistols is 100000 rounds per pistol a very good return for sure but the video was to discuss it's relevancy. Not at all shallow but a focused question. Dhs and border now issue 19x's so does that automatically mean the glock is the best? Of course not.

@@1776orbust Thanks for sharing. The "latest and greatest" and more "modern" models translate to better or best, is not always true. The P2000 is twenty year tested and true reliable pistol. The government agencies you mentioned transitioned to the Glocks, because they were less expensive and 9mm, not .40 Smith and Wesson, that the P2000s were. Many federal, State and local law are switching to 9mm, for costs. Bullet technology has greatly improved with the 9mm. I will stick with the P2000 9mm LEM.

@LoneStarLawman I agree with that sentiment as a fan of classic Sigs vs the new stuff. Also, I agree with the modern 9mm and cost savings for the government.

I've had one for a long time as well as the sk model. It's one of my favorite pistols. I'm in Jersey and their all over the place here at gun shops. You can always do a transfer if your interested. Depending what state your in you'll just have to get standard capacity mags. The one's here are 10 rounders

I EDC one in 40. I love it. It is a pretty soft shooting 40. I just picked up a spare. The grip side panels won't eat your torso. The front and back provide plenty of texture.

@@Lexicologist1971 I totally agree. For some reason there's not much love for p2000 but it's one of my favorite. As well as my uspc 40. We just got ccw here in Jersey with the latest ruling so it's going to be p2000/2000sk in 40 for my edc as well. Stay safe bud

idk guns didnt really start changing much and having all these dumb/fad generational changes until around the early 2000's... i think the p2000 series represents possibly the last well thought out and test/perfected series of pistols which took around a decade or two to come up with instead of 1-2 years like the new iphone. except for maybe red dots and some the more recent ultra slim 9mm's, most of the recent "generational improvments" of current ccw's could go right in the trash forward slide serrations? super grippy texture that wears a hole through ur cloths and gets worn down after a couple months of carry? metal sights for clearing malfunctions one handed/wounded? in the last 15-20 years, consumerism and capitalism has gone full room temp iq and begged mfg to market us all these obscure features that are unlikely to ever be needed while giving up important benifits of a decade old, drop safe, reliable hammer fired design. ya it seems like i would really need a short trigger reset for quick accurate follow up shots but... when my expectations come back to reality ide rather have the ability to pull the trigger more than once when i accidentally out of battery safety my gun into a malfunction with my lizzard brain... idk these 20 year old hk's seem like they might still be the best carry pieces on the market for the forseeable future.... and are probably the last example of a design that will not change every other year. espeically in .40.... ive been starting to doubt 9mm expanion in newer, shorter ccw's....

Why get a P2000 when you can get a P30, which is basically a hammer-fired VP9? Way better ergonomics. Nicer trigger. Only reason I can think of to get the P2000 is nostalgia or if you’re an HK collector.

I have both of the mentioned guns. I had the p2000 first and my thoughts were the same as yours which is why i picked up the p30… I ended up liking the p2000 better. It is a better size for carry, the grip is better for ME as I really disliked the p30 side panels shifting in my hand, and I also preferred the looks of the p2000 (my copy is a LEM). The only feature I think this gun is lacking is an optic cut, but that is also a frustration for me on the p30.

This is the only HK pistol able to be legally sold in California by the manufacturer. If you want a different HK model, you have to go private party and expect to pay a 2-3x markup.

The misinformation in this video is a bit shocking. Also in response to the video, people’s hands are different.. I have large sized hands and the P2000 fits perfectly. 20 years later this gun doesn’t give anything up to new models. I didn’t purchase a P2000 as a vanity piece. It is a tool to be used, not a piece of a collection.
