I've said it before, but I'll say it again - you do get some interesting pistols. This looks like another great addition to your HK collection. I understand the "backward" safety, but it's a non-starter unless one trains a lot with it.

The request was for a manual safety where the lever automatically returned to the ‚Safe‘ position after decocking. The easiest way was to turn around the ‚Safe‘ and ‚Fire‘ positions on the decocking lever to fulfill that request. The pistol is carried in the so-called "schnelle Feuerbereitschaft" (quick fire readiness) uncocked and unlocked (lever on F).

Why do you ride the hammer down instead of using the decocker?
@MDpolo2 жыл бұрын
That’s a good question. It is because this pistol is somewhat collectible in the United States and it is in brand new condition. When you start to use the decocker, it begins to leave a mark on the polymer. Similar to The ring around the cylinder of a revolver. So I’m trying to keep it as pristine as possible. Thank you very much for stopping by.

That is a very nice HK. I wanted one in 9mm the first time I ever saw one back when they first came out. They were just way out of my price range even more so than most other weapons. I was really glad however that the Glock pistols were around after I warmed up to them because they were the same no nonsense high quality type weapons at a more reasonable price so I have made do with them for years. Fast forward to the last month and I now own an HK USP 40 and a HK VP 40. I have not gotten to shoot either yet but I am ecstatic to have both. I have obtained several nice semi auto' hammer and striker fired 9mm's and only had one .40 a Glock 27. I like .40 caliber so in just the last month I have gotten a S&W M&P .40 gen 1 and the two Hk's. I may wind up with a P30 in 9mm before it's over though.

@@MDpolo The US price tag on this is incredible. In Germany you can just casually walk into a store and get one off the shelf for ~$900. Why keep pinching the hammer when it has a decocker? Seems like a bad habit.
@MDpolo2 жыл бұрын
Because for now, I don’t want any marks on the frame and every time that you move that lever either to the safety position or to decock, it starts to create a groove on the polymer. Much like the circle around the cylinder of a revolver. So, not a bad habit, just trying to keep the frame from scratching. Thank you for watching.
