@GUNSMITH446 ай бұрын
@@CRHEthey might be slimmer in the grip. The full size usp use the same magazines as the mk23, the uspc use the same mags as the Hk45c and will take the hk45 full size mags.

@ugatobekittenme3 жыл бұрын
@@eriklarson9137 I've owned a few different full size berettas and quite a few glocks, what I like about the usp line is how durable and proven they are and just how large the slide and controls are. And lastly, I like the aesthetic look of the guns The only big downside is the lack of a proper accessory rail for it but there are adapters

They do make a ten round magazine for the USP compact but it does add some height to the gun so it tends to print a bit more while concealing it taking away some of the compact advantage over the full size version while still being two rounds shy of the full size capacity. It also looks a bit goofy with the extended 10 round mag but I carry it with it because I don't go around showing it off and don't really care too much if it prints a bit and would rather have that extra two rounds just in case. I will say the extended mag makes it feel a bit nicer while shooting though the standard one is good too.

I think the USP is pretty neat, and .45Super is pretty neat. 10mm with proper ammo is no slouch but I think .45Super has a slight advantage. I'm glad I don't have to shoot in the snow, I'd be down on hands and knees trying to find my brass.

Once upon a time, when I lived in Delta Junction for a while - I carried first a .45 Jericho, and later an HK USP Tac 45. And I felt comfortable with that regarding bears or whatever. Everybody has their personal choice. I always thought the hunting rifle, to be the poorest, right there with the .357/44/454/500 magnum revolvers - unless you are specifically *hunting with* the revolver... yeah... nope. Semi-auto rifles and shotguns, as a secondary. Regarding Dude at the end of the video? Needs to check his ego. He's being a showoff, when he really needs to study some more. His double-action "practice" - is quickly becoming a muscle memory drill, and in a bad situation... that is exactly what he will do. Draw, fire one round, pull, and fuck with the de-cocker, et al. Because, that's what humans do in those scenarios - with a million examples out there. I'm not saying double action practice, or even his drill, is bad - I'm saying, he needs to slow... the... fuck... down. More "practice" - less "drill." Take a little attention break in between. Look around, check your environment for continuing or other threats, look at a flower or something - maybe decock and reholster, and go through the whole drill because, train as you carry/fight. From the holster, through safety deactivation (or not), up to target, double action round, low-ready, BREAK - check surroundings, whatever, decock, blind reholster. - BREAK - Repeat. Same drill, just an additional second or two in there to keep it from becoming a drill. Slow down - it is FAR more important that your muscles learn the *prescision* than the speed. The speed will come with time and... practice. Stay safe up there! Hope you found a home by the time I have posted this!

You and Chuck need to start reloading. Pistol ammo will come out to about 10 cents a round once you invest is brass. Starline makes 45 Super brass, and I cast and PC a 263gr hard cast and get it to 920fps in my 1911 with Unique. No pressure signs at all, and I'm happy with it though I am moving to Montana in a month and will be in Grizzly country so my attitude may change haha. I agree with the 10mm vs 45 Super comparison. Both are excellent and will and have done the job, but its the old argument of big heavy and slow bullet vs faster and a lighter bullet. I'm in the Elmer Keith camp on this one

@gsyoung543 жыл бұрын
I don't know about the author but I kind of like the full size USPs and the full size HK 45/45T over the compacts. I'm only 5'9" and overweight at 220+ but find carrying the full size in a Safariland BLS OWB retention holster and have no problems doing so with two extra mags on the left. I often carry my MK23 in a different OWB holster and it doesn't bother me either. They are big guns but a good holster and a loose fitting jacket or light hoodie thing works well.

It doesn't work like that in reality. It's more like if you use your handgun it's an action that is immediate and typically over quickly and your not wearing an rifle with you all slung up. .45 FMJ or HC is great for critter defense, I take it. But JHP or XD penetration suffers. Stick with the 10mm, for superior criminal defense, too.
