Paddle release is by far superior. It only took me a few minutes to adapt. One thing I love about using your index finger to engage the paddle is that the downward motion of your finger naturally brings your thumb up and ready to disengage the slide stop, making for some lightning-fast reloads.

same to me. I've seen way to many videos of highly trained people death grip their gun in a gun fight only for the mag to drop. You really dont know how you will react until bullets and barrels are coming your way so paddle is one less thing to worry about.

I have a VP9, VP9 Tact OR and a P30L. They have, by far my favorite grips of any polymer frame gun on the market right now. I can attest to the quality HK handguns. I had a HK USP Compact .40 that I put thru the ringer. I owned it for about 15 years. But I shot it hard for about 4 years where I ran over 40k round thru it. I didn’t clean it like I should have and that gun never had a malfunction or misfire at all. It fired everything I ran thru it as fast as I could pull the trigger. I don’t have near that many rounds thru my VP9 but it hasn’t let me down yet either.

Me too, but I like the one on the USP better, not so much the elongated versions like on an SFP9/VP9. Definitely less chances of an accidental release of a mag.

Yep the H&K VP9 Tactical OR has been protecting my home and family now for a year and a half. Before that its brother the H&K P30 .40 had the job for the last decade. Good review!

This is the regular variant. They also make an OR variant ready for an optic but you have to go to HK to purchase the correct mounting plate for your specific optic
