I’ve owned my HK45 6-7 years, and in a couple thousand rounds I’ve never had a hiccup or jam. I have above average sized hands and the ergonomics are literally perfect for me. I shoot about as well with this fun as my Dan Wesson 1911, which surprises me. The HK45 is silly accurate. As a side note, the 10 rounds mags I have actually hold 11 rounds. Looking at your video, the pistol looks enormous for you, I don’t think it fits you very well. Also, in my 34 years of shooting experience, shooting low is almost always a symptom of reacting to recoil. To further support this notion, your first shot was a bulls eye, it was afterwards that your recoil response had you pushing on the gun, dropping the nozzle. I don’t have an issue with the mag release since I’m so used to it. This is easily one of my favorite pistols of all time. Thanks for your great work on this video!

Well done video! I own an HK45 and it has performed flawlessly since Day 1. I would be willing to bet that the side of your LEFT thumb inadvertently hit the paddle release…

Watched the range video 3x. Your shots are low because you're releasing the trigger every time you shoot. And then you jerk it through. Try letting one off. Slowly riding the trigger forward until it resets. Then pressing again. Will bring them all up. You can see the front sight droop right before each shot as you pull on the trigger. Awesome video 😁

I can tell you it's not that. I have the HK 45 and if you shoot irons the traditional way with blade cutting center mass you will shoot low Everytime. You have to use the dot on the site center mass. I learned this after 2 mags of shooting low

I recently bought a HK 45, it was a police trade in. Filthiest gun I’ve ever held. It came with one mag in a card board box. Nothing else. No back strap, no O ring, zip, nada. The carbon was actually baked onto the feed ramp. I took her home from the gun store and spent a good hour cleaning her up. She shoots like a champ and I’ve put over 400 rounds down range with not a single hiccup. I carry her sometimes with any hesitation, but she is usually in my nightstand. Great video and I’m glad I found your channel.

I had a lady with long nails who kept dropping the mag on a P30L when she pulled the trigger. In your case, I’m wondering if the muzzle rise contributed to causing your trigger finger to drop lower than normal resulting in you dropping the mag. Pure speculation on my part, of course.

Is the tip of your trigger finger hitting the paddle on the opposite side on the trigger pull? Looks like the recoil raised the gun up onto you finger tip.

I drop the mag sometimes on glocks, I have big hands so my middle finger hits the release as I grip it. I prefer the paddle release, just had to train my trigger finger to do it. Thousands of rounds later the barrel o-ring is still good. No problems with the gun. Never dropped the magazine ever with it. I got rid of my 1911 for this, holds more bullets and grip feels better to me.
@andog60922 жыл бұрын
Do what feels best but with the European mag release you should use you middle finger. That way you can index your finger on the slide and not change your grip. Again do what you want just a heads up. Also keep an eye on that glock, understandable dropping the mag out due to hand size but it can also be a sign of your mag release going bad. Had a buddy had the same issue with a glock 21

I'm thinking about getting one. I have a CZ 10F in .45 and a Walther PPQ and they shoot great. The dropping of the magazine reminds me of an issue I had with my Glock G20, all of the magazines kept dropping out after firing a round, but the wholesaler replaced the pistol. I have the HK P30L and really thinking about getting one of these.

Good morning!! Very nicely done!! When I tried the USP’s in the late 90’s. The safety/decocker felt like it was going to break. As far as the magazine goes, maybe that particular magazine is defective? Notch not properly finished? It didn’t look like you were manipulating the release. Again, nice evaluation, and video as always!! Have a great day!!

That sure was nice of him sending that out! I have one of these on the way...wanted one for years. Hope to do some videos on it. New subscriber by the way! Great look at this HK pistol. Maybe hit the mag release when the mag flew out?

If you did not hold it like a revolver and lose control of the wepon, you might not have hit the magazine release.

Been shooting pistols professionally 51 years, but did not learn to fire competitively until 30 years ago. H&K is the top dog Cadillac of the pack. Prefer a Colt Gold Cup Trophy Custom tack driver, but it is too nice to take out of the safe.😂 You were rushing instead of squeezing. All your shots from that distance should have been in the ten ring. Likely hit the German paddle mag release since you were not in full control and comfortable. It is always practice makes perfect, of course.😊 Never the gun. You can spend years learning to block out the natural human tendency to subconsciously anticipate recoil by flinching.😢Agree with the earlier comment concerning the early on sight picture being correct. Good job trying hard. Most people are intimidated by new large frame .45 explosions taking place in their hands.😂 Those are full blown war guns for Special Ops troops. Hang in there. God bless. Regards😊

Have had this pistol for 6 years. Fits my large hands (I am 6'6") with a hoag grip perfectly. I think her hands are too small for this gun. Makes everything feel wrong. Have shot many other 45s and like mine the best. Extremely accurate. Sorry, but it is not a girls gun.

Looks like the slide didn't lock open after the last round was spent. But I would be careful before you purchase an HK45. There are some on the market that have a mish mash of serial numbered items. The frame, barrel, and slides do not have matching serial numbers,.. on some examples.

I had an HK45. Shot it next to my sig 227 and CZ97 and it was the least enjoyable of the 3 to shoot. Way to much muzzle flip compared to the metal frame guns that handled .45 much better.

1) You hit the mag release due to recoil. Almost to much for you and it’s a handgun you didn’t have any time on so inexperience was the factor. 2) You also dont have to rack the slide back to get a round in the chamber. You use the standard thumb release. Again no experience leads to this because you didn’t know you can do that. 3) You need more practice with that firearm before you can give a legit review. 4) Recoil was too much for you IMO. 5) You said it was heavy. It is not. It weighs a little more than an Elcan Specter DR. So overall you had a lot of issues going on and too much recoil thus you not liking it. It’s to much for you. Keep practicing though.

I haven't used this pill distributor but that muzzle flip is not kosher. If I were reloading for it I'd use a 185-200gr pill to tame the beast. Yes. Tank tops and flip flops are a no-no.
