7 Feb 2024 It's pretty clear that movie directors across nationalities and cultures do study, learn from and even imitate/copy scene-stagings from each other even if they do not (understandably) explicitly acknowledge so. The final scene in this episode of Deng Lek performing his Baptism rite in a Catholic Church is an obvious compliment to (rip-off?) Hollywood's "The Godfather" (1972)'s iconic scene of Michael Corleone, the newly-installed Head of the family, attending his infant daughter's Baptism ceremony while his henchmen, on his prior orders of course, went about massacring the other Mafia clans' members, machine guns and all. For another all-too-apparent mimicking of screenplay action/scenario scripting (also involving The Godfather film), viewers may wish to refer to my comments in the final 25th episode of "The Shell Game", under "Bouquets" paragraph iv). Thanks.
