Hey everyone, thanks so much for the comments on this video, exhausts are pretty subjective so just trying to add my experience and opinion to the world! If you're not subscribed please do, it really helps me out, and if you could also check out my latest video on detailing the MX-5 (the algorithm hates it!) that'd be great too. Thanks and more to come!

Yep, the Legamax Premium is fantastic.

Super helpful video. I'm in the US and OEM+ is exactly what I'm looking for, nothing too loud or droney but a deeper tone than stock. Great to hear the audio from the drivers perspective driving in the real world too vs. a microphone on the bumper.

Hey, thanks for commenting. Yes I found it tricky to find a good video that demonstrated the sound of the Legamax Premium so thought I'd make my own! Glad it's been helpful. Have you made a decision yet?

I tried the HKS Legamax Premium, it sounds good but i wanted something just a bit more. I ended up with the HKS Legamax Sport and i absolutely love it.
@kinghock4 ай бұрын
I ended up cutting it out of the video for time, but I mentioned the Sport and how I didn’t like the look of the tip and that was why I didn’t go for it. Definitely get that some people will want more, the Premium is more of a subtle change. I think the HKS options are underrated among BBR and Goodwin options, so was keen to get the word out there a bit more. Thanks for watching!

Sounds good! Question: I spend way too much time on interstates, driving at a steady 65-75 mph (100-120 km/h) for hours at a time. Under those conditions, is the stock exhaust quieter, maybe less droning? That’s my only concern about upgrading. Thanks!

The sport sounds good but the premium just looks much better in my opinion. I'm going to try fitting a midpipe to try and eke out some more noise whilst keeping the character of the premium

Love how there's a decent selection of exhausts to choose from. I wanted really loud but not deafeningly loud and a jdm look.. so I settled on tomei axleback and keeping everything else stock. It's perfect for me. A little boomy but not too much drone. And without a tune, I can hear burbles and light pops. Once ND3 ecu gets hacked (fab9 said they are very very close), i'll have a nice burble tune to go with the car. Nothing too ridiculous, just the right balance to have some fun. What an awesome car to drive regardless of what exhaust we all choose. :)

There really is a great selection, but sometimes not enough sample audio/video to work out what sound you might like. Glad you found the right one for you! Thanks for watching.

I have the BBR200 kit on my NC2 (extractors, cams, panel filter & ECUTEK tune). Love the kit but hard to recommend after the hassles dealing with them, from Australia. I am also running a Racing Beat muffler, works well.

how reliable is bbr kit and how much in total did it cost?
@kinghock3 ай бұрын
Yeah the summary with BBR seems to be...great product, amazing quality, but bloody awful service, they really just don't care. Bet the car goes good though!!
@tas-graz3 ай бұрын
@@kinghock If you can find a local tuner who can fit the bits amd re-map the ECU on a dyno (perhaps using ECUTEK but there are other options) then you can get cams, headers and intakes from plenty of other sources. Thats what I would do if I had to again.

I have owned 2 alfa Romeo’s, , a 73 Berlina and a 1986 spider. I love the sound these cars make and this seems like a good choice for me. I’m looking for something that is not loud and obnoxious and your seems to be perfect. Do you know if this will still work on the 20 24, 2025? I assume they are pretty much the same car but I will look into it. Thanks for your help.
@kinghock23 күн бұрын
Hi! Thanks for your comment. I think it's an ideal middle ground - it's not obnoxious, it just has a nicer note and a little more presence. Perfect for what I wanted. As far as I am aware the ND3 models are the same design as regards the exhaust so you shouldn't have any problems - but worth checking. This exhaust's model code is 32018-AZ010.

The open road speed limit in New Zealand is 100km/h. A few recent motorways are 110km/h. I've driven on both with this exhaust and while I would say the stock exhaust is quieter, I wouldn't say it's by much and the HKS doesn't drone despite being louder and more bassy. Hope that helps!

No droning issue on the motorway for me after upgrading to the Legamax Premium

I still haven't found the perfect exhaust yet. The rasp of the HKS is not for me. I have the Borla S-Type box which is kind of mellow and feels even more as you described OEM+. What I really want is a really deep, base-y exhaust note and just a little bit more volume (over the Borla). I came from a Fiat 500 Abarth with no mufflers and a decat down pipe. That car sounded 5X's more aggressive and racey than my ND2.
@kinghock3 ай бұрын
It’s really tricky to find the right one for sure. I love the exhaust notes of the Abarth - probably the only thing I prefer over the ND - it’s a magic sound
@Foxtrot_Woof3 ай бұрын
@@kinghock The Borla did get a bit better as it got broken in, but to get a bit more noise I'm considering doing the Sound Tube modification (deleting the muffler on the sound tube) get a bit more induction noise in the cabin.

raspiness doesn't do it for me and, I never managed to understand the enthusiasm for this type of exhaust sound; I also really don't like the Honda K series metallic tone so maybe I am the defective one; what I do love and like to hear are deep, full, rich, baritone sounds; not loud, not screaming but a baritone "bark" that gets the job done and doesn't drone at highway speeds.
@kinghock3 ай бұрын
Each to their own for sure! What I found annoying when trying to pick an exhaust was finding good examples of what they sound like, especially in New Zealand where we just don’t have the population. The absolute ideal would be being able to listen to it in person to make your call. Thanks for watching!
