3:38 The only reason why I know anything that is happening here in the flutes and clarinets is because we had to go over this so many times to get it down in my band lel this is such a cool song, especially the ending, I feel like this has the best ways to end a song, ever in all of band songs, cant wait to hopefully play this again soon

This piece will always have a sense of Nostalgia for me. It was the first piece I ever played in concert in the top band at my highschool. That was a few years ago, and I’ve since bought a professional level instrument so I can pursue music for the rest of my life. I only hope to get the feeling of that song back again. It’s a one of a kind piece.

This will be my first piece in the top band as well! I’m so scared😭
@crispyrice94422 ай бұрын
@@saltsalter it’s very difficult and I won’t play it down. I found the piece repeats itself a number of times, so it’s not as much practice work as it looks like. This piece is a lot more about style than technical accuracy. It’s grandiose and intimidating, and you’ll know it’s played well when the hair on your arms stands straight up. Don’t let it scare you, let it scare the audience.

when i played this junior year of high school, i didn't appreciate it as much as i should have. I was just an angry clarinetist who was annoyed with the amount of altissimo-register notes. But now being an alumni and having all kinds of facebook memories from band concerts come up, I have to say this was by far my most favorite piece I ever performed in my 7 years of middle/high school band, and still my all time favorite over everything I've played even after high school

Honestly, people seem to over emphasize how hard Arabesque is to play. The piece is a challenge to be sure, it is a grade 5 after all, but compared to Ride or Rush, Arabesque is an easy run through.
