the ending is dramatic it’s a minute long conclusion to the song, but the reason he did that was to make it really really annoying. like how at the bottom of an ice cream cone they put a piece of chocolate so it makes you want another one, the end is tantalizing and it makes you want to listen to the entire song again for that note :)

I was the only one on Firebird Suite that had 3 quarter notes, 2 half notes and the rest were whole notes tied mulitple times. I switched back to flute after that...

The horn is a whole different breed of beautiful and difficult. When I first started band, I chose the French horn because it looked cool. And I’m glad I did that, cause I can’t see myself playing any other instrument as passionately as the horn. I’ve played the trumpet, mello all the time for pep and marching band, and the piano. @@saltsalter it’s very difficult and I won’t play it down. I found the piece repeats itself a number of times, so it’s not as much practice work as it looks like. This piece is a lot more about style than technical accuracy. It’s grandiose and intimidating, and you’ll know it’s played well when the hair on your arms stands straight up. Don’t let it scare you, let it scare the audience.
