sorry for the poor quality audio, it's been a really long time since i've recorded anything using my own voice and i won't be doing it again unless there's, y'know, a reason.
but uh, yeah, this sums up my feelings and junk. hopefully this doesn't sort of back track on your impressions of me, but it is what it is. it's the last i'll talk about it now that i've gotten it all out there in video form, so yeah!
i'm also going to be tagging this as heathers stuff because it appears most of the attention stems from my Meant To Be Yours video, so that's why. thanks!

hey guys, just to clarify that if you have traced from me or use my stuff as references, just credit me! as long as you are aware that taking big parts of someone's art does not equal you having the right to claim everything about it as yours, it's fine! you don't need to ask my permission, just be aware of your actions and in doing so credit the artist that you've taken from! keep flourishing, keep developing your skills and your own style, and you'll get there in no time!

Hardly back tracks, only promots further the kind of person you are and its good. What you are saying is all true, hell we all do things we later realize is wrong as growing artist but the thing is growing out of that and realizing it. As the older generation we are supposed to push the newer generation forward. Witch hunts will not do that. You made strong points, and its really big of you to put all of that information out there for older and younger artist alike. I do hope it gets better. Edit: If I may ask for clarifications, so it was someone who took the 'draw your squad' traced it, and then was selling it at as like a ych or something? I apologize I did not quite understand that bit.

Great video, it's sadly a very common issue for artists. I've had my art stolen and played off as theirs and even someone copying and pasting parts of my creature,using a bit of the warp tool and calling it their original creature design... even people using my art in their (for profit) projects and saying "hey hope you don't mind but I loved your art so much we used it in our game! hope that's okay?" -_- NO. IT'S NOT OKAY. great job on the topic btw. and you got a new sub.

A friend of mine just got there art stolen a week ago she didnt care intill a bunch of peoole commented on her account that she stole it when it was the other way around.She got so upset she gave up on art and its really sad to see that happen.(im trying to convince her to ignore the group and just draw because its what she loves to do)

I used to trace poses but now I found one of those apps that let you use multiple models to pose. The one I use even let's you mess with the fingers. I suggest apps like those for trying to draw poses and shit

As an artist I also trace others art, strictly for practice and the fact I hate hand, I understand where you're coming from, I don't sell my stuff it's mostly for my own pleasure but once I had uploaded my art and I got some kid claiming it. If you give the artist credit it's cool but its really frustrating.

Try watermarks or lowering the resolution when you upload!

Sign your art on the character you drew and since it's an important thing, the theif cannot get rid of the sign because its on the character, if they try to delete it, it'll ruin the drawing. Place it in a place where it's impossible to cut off or draw a color on to get rid of it

I recently traced over a scene in your 'meant to be yours' (and I'll show you if you want, I feel guilty for it anyways and there's no use denying it.) but I'd never claim it as my own. I only did it because I felt it really reminded me of my oc and I wanted to see what he'd look like in that position and I struggle severely with expressions and positions. I never showed it off or flaunted it around, I just kept it to myself. If you'd like to see I'll show you. Just felt guilty so I wanted to admit it.

Yeah, that sort of stuff sucks and it sucks even more that it's becoming more popular to do these days. It's happening to way too many artists now and it's awful. The least we can do is confront them about it if we don't personally tell you. And by confront I don't mean to call them out of witch-hunt them at all. At least, on KZbin you do have a following of 55K subs, not sure about any other platforms you're on but I'm sure some of your fans are definitely mature enough to nicely confront any 'arists' who do this to tell them it really isn't cool, and that even if they trace over it, colour it, whatever it, it's originally YOUR art and they need to credit you. If I ever see any manipulated and re-distributed art of yours, I'll definitely inform them it's wrong if I don't personally message you.

Hey I am going through a problem with that topic, so I'm doing a pokemon drawing and I need to draw Kyurem Black and so I looked up pictures and used them as reference, I tried a couple times some things but nothing worked, so then I found a pic of basically exactly what I needed and the person put the line art and basic colors on their deviantart and had said that its fine if others use their line art and that they're okay with it, I plan on using the finished product in my portfolio, is what I'm doing okay?

Hey, I just wanted to inform you that I really like your style and I 'm still looking for mine, so yesterday I took the last picture from the kinda tutorial video and took the pose and the mouth (because I'm still learning ).I changed the charackter and added some of my style and than I colored it in. I uploaded it to the general platforms lie Instagram or Tumblr. I always wrote Inspired or Credits to/by HLKPro. So I wanted to ask you, wether you're ok with that or I should delete it. In conclusion, Art-referencing is okay, but Art-stealing is shitty. If you look at a picture and say "I like those eyes!" and then practice making them, you will eventually create your own style of that. But of you see a picture and flat out 'trace' it (No, I don't only mean physical tracing. Don't start) then you should be ashamed. Stop it. *B E G O N E T H O T*
