Can't you just shoot in the middle of reloading? I haven't played call of duty in a while but I thought you could just stop in the middle of loading shells and fire again?

That was a thing up until like around og mw2ish era back in 08-09. For the longest time if you fired mid reload, if you sprinted mid reload, if you meleed mid reload or anything, it would do a reload cancel and you could shoot... But as COD advanced and things started getting my tactical, they changed to where you can sprint while reloading which has positives as well as negatives
