HMAS Voyager - A Final Tribute

A final tribute to the Daring class destroyer HMAS Voyager (II) and the loss of 82 men following a collision with the Aircraft Carrier HMAS Melbourne on the night of 10th February 1964. This year is the 50th anniversary of the loss of the ship and shipmates. 232 men survived the incident.
This is my tribute to a ship I served in and shipmates lost.

Had a mate who was a bunting on the Voyager. Survived. Told me the last thing he remembered were two effing great anchors coming down on him. He passed a away a couple of years ago. Good dit on the Aussie Comms Site. Billy Bacon was his name.

I sailed with Billy, on either the Vamps, or Vendetta. My memory is a tad vague and I too, was in the Comms. Tactical branch. He was a good guy.
