The sentiment for Mohn is there in Alola for sure however you seem to be overlooking The Masked Royal as a suitable contender to be able to claim the Champion belt. Especially considering Kukui, who was your final test to see if you were worthy of becoming the 1st champion of Alola, learned all he knows about pokemon battles by watching The Masked Royal at every match of his career. Now technically speaking you can fight The Masked Royal although, never in a 1v1 situation, only half of his team chosen at random, and in an arena where his Snorlax's Self-destruct, Magnezone's Discharge, Braviary's Rock Slide, and Lycanroc's Snarl all have their damage decreased. Not to mention the battles that you do have against him are NOT sactioned by the traditional pokemon battle standards so any time you may have beaten him does not count. Additionally, Kieran copied The Masked Royal's signature using held item technique. Now a lot of people tend to think that Kukui and The Masked Royal are the same person due to their similar body shape and that they are never seen together however, there is unrefutable proof this is false in the existence of Crabominable on The Masked Royal's team. Kukui never once used either a Crabominable or Crabrawler in ANY of his battles. This is definitive proof that Kukui is not The Masked Royal but instead it is twin brother [First name witheld] Kukui, who faked his own death in the wake of the explosion of the ultimate weapon being fired in Kalos. Professor Kukui agrees to keep him still living under wraps was because it was only due to the life insurance policy [First Name Witheld] Kukui had with octuple indemnity for death as a result of an all powerful superweapon, that Professor Kukui, a "Professor" who does research about pokemon in their own house, since they are not successful enough to even rent a room in an existing lab for his studies, was able to afford to build a several storied mountaintop mansion to serve as their regions pokemon league headquarters.

I totally agree that Steven could beat Wallace, but it works the other way around too. It's explicitly stated in the manga that they are each other's equals, and Wallace defeated Steven before the events of the story. But yeah in the games Steven is definitely stronger, though I could see Wallace being able to outwit him, since he's proven himself to be a far more versatile trainer in being both a gym leader and a coordinator as well. And half of Steven's team is weak to water (two-thirds in his ORAS rematch team), while Wallace has no pokémon that are weak to steel and only one that's weak to rock.

1 trainer technically from unova stronger than Alder, N, and Ghetsis by sheer level is Shigeki Morimoto from gamefreak headquarters in unova. His first in game fight was in bw1 making him perfect for the 1 trainer stronger then the champion in bw1 as his team is leagues higher level then N who would technically be the champion the player faces. It would be a cool mention too due to Morimoto's involvement in the creation of the franchise. For bw2 I'd honestly have said Benga who boasts 2 potential teams with a legendary in either latias or latios, a pseudo legendary with dragonite or garchomp and a volcarona, all at level 80. It would bring irony too as Benga is the grandson of Alder and arguably has surpassed him.

A character in the Diamond and Pearl Adventure manga duels Cynthia to a draw. Cynthia only wins because Mitsumi (the resident Dawn expy) gives up, but there was no clear winner at that point, and their fight had already been so strong that the lower level of the league stadium had to be evacuated. It's so funny in hindsight hearing people think that Kieran was possessed. But the actual final boss of the base game, the AI, *was* possessed, albeit by a bizarre security program.

The Palmer > Cynthia is debatable Firstly, due to the fact that in the Battle Tower all Pokemon are capped at Lvl 50, we don't know how strong Palmer's Pokemon are outside of his domain since they could be any level from 50 - 100. As such, he could be an absolute badass or his Pokemon might be 10 levels below Cynthia's. Secondly, Garchomp's Flamethrower looked like it was on an equal footing with Milotic's Hydro Pump. Taking Type Effectiveness into account this suggests that, while the choice of move may have been suspect, it may have been a case of Cynthia showing that she doesn't feel the need to go all out in order to go toe to toe with Palmer. Thirdly, while Palmer does have 3 Legendaries, not all Legendaries are created equal. Two of his Legendaries are Cresselia and Regigigas. Regigigas, hampered by it's ability Slow Start is basically the joke when it comes to Legendaries while Cresselia with Atk and Sp Atk stats of 70 and 75 respectively are low for a Legendary Pokemon. It packs less punch than Shaymin. Cresselia has legendary defensive stats but that's it. Neither Cresselia or Regigigas are Pokemon many people would put on their teams. This leaves Palmer's Heatran as the only real threat in his legendary arsenal. While Palmer has 3 Legendaries compared to Cynthia's single Pseudo-Legendary, it might not be as much of a game changer as we'd think.

Palmer is definitely champion level, but Cynthia is not the same kind of champion as others. Others like Geeta, Lance, Diantha, and even rivals like Blue are ones who are specifically established in champion name and not outside of such in relation to pokemon battling. In using legendary pokemon as justification, you also have to include Anabel in Hoenn who wasn’t even mentioned along with the battle heads in Kalos. If using masters and the fact that she is Volo’s descendent, you could even say Cynthia is a legendary trainer with the pokemon giratina. Her battling patterns are also not the same as other champions with how diverse and strategic her team is. Being more like a team you would find at battle frontiers in the post game. Her pokemon in brilliant diamond also reach the same level as Red who even you said was the strongest being stronger than Lance. In a way, she is a more leveled out Red with more personality going into her and various lore behind her. Aspects about her being shown to be hidden is still around to this day. She has even gone on a journey similar to the main character. Something only Blue, Red, N, Kukui, and Leon have all had. Volo who she is descended of is also without a doubt the strongest Hisuian trainer. Based on his statements, it is also that he has had some influence on her as a pokemon trainer as well. For her garchomp going against the milotic in the anime, I don’t think it matters when Red defeated Blue’s Blastoise with a fire type move. She comes off as a type of main character while being someone a boss and someone with a grand goal. A combination of N, Red, Professors which include Oak, and the main character. You can probably justify some character in the anime or someone like Anabel being stronger than Cynthia, but I disagree with Palmer being stronger. Palmer is very strong and if Cynthia left her post as champion, he would be strong enough to take it. In Sinnoh, I say he is second only to Cynthia. Though yet, I say Cynthia ultimately triumphs.

You’re underselling how strong Wally is, in his final team after you get a 50 streak in the battle maison in ORAS he has a legit competitive team. Dude I don't care about the anime (and I despise anime Cynthia). I say she's hard because I spent four hours on stream trying to beat her and was so frustrated I started crying. You can go watch the video yourself if you don't believe me. I still couldn't beat her! I had to spend the whole next day level grinding!
