Was lucky to catch TDB in Haarlem in 2012. The opening band couldn't play so I got to see a full set under the influence of psychoactive compounds. One of the best shows I've ever seen and Selim was the REAL DEAL. Amazing guitarist, composer, arranger and performer. Still underrated.

i believe the forces he trusted wear a suit and they have machines. And i believe they are full of shit. Leaving behind a sister and giving that example to fans,young fans, i do not find cool at all. Besides that, awesome guy. Just did not have the patience to wait for new conclusions within development of a mans life.

He inherited genes that predisposed him toward depression. There's no way of reasonably judging the morality of what he did. I don't know his specific diagnosis, but being someone with BPD (10% of us commit suicide), I can imagine pretty well what he went through, and I can only say that he shouldn't be criticized for the chance someone might emulate him. Are you offering any cure or remedy for mental illness or doing anything to fix the mental illness epidemic? If not, then your comment really isn't appropriate. Yeah, suicide from depression isn't cool. Neither are metastatic cancer cells. Just hope whatever force is tending the light at the end of the tunnel has compassion for him and us all. Life is a terminal disease to all.

Yes! Farida told how difficult it was to deal with Selim death, as she had to take care of her mother and her son, who was still a child at the time. Farida is an example of a strong and warrior woman. For me it is the greatest legacy of The Devils Blood.
