Literally watching this video while having an emotional release. Spencer was a huge help in me applying and becoming a LMT in Florida this past year. Spent months watching his videos on anatomy, massage as a business, and how to treat not just adhesions but myself as well. Mentally, physically, and emotionally. Getting a massage from Spencer is darn near a bucket list item now just because of the impact his videos have had on my life in the past 2 years. Has meant so much too me and my career.

I have learnt a lot from your videos, you are so gifted. I am a MT myself and It does take lot of confidence to do what you do and inspire others. Thanks for this vid where we get learn a little about you and your life. You do deserve a break and I agree, I would love to see a video of you getting a massage. I sometimes do 6 or 7 massages in a day and it can wear you out, even with the best stance and techniques. Always take time out for you that's how you are able to give your best to others when you look after yourself. Thank you for all you do. Best wishes Spencer.

I started school for Swedish massage in 2019. I unfortunately herniated a disc in my back 2 weeks into the course (happened outside of school), and had to put a hold on it - that was quickly followed by COVID, and the shut down of the course for over a year. I'm happy to say that in 2022, I have finally finished the course, and tomorrow I have an interview at a spa. I'm watching some of your videos before the interview to review techniques and try and understand it from a job perspective instead of a class perspective, and I have to say your content is really hitting the mark for me. I'm feeling less nervous overall after watching a few of your beginner tips videos, and I've picked this video as the final one for the night. Thank you for what you do.

Broad area of touch, confident touch, and fulfilling the clients request is huge. If they ask to work on muscles of running then you work the appropriate leg muscles. Totally agree, it’s simple but I agree these are fundamentals of a quality massage session.

I am not a massage therapist, however as a health professional, my view is that massage is an extremely giving vocation, so I wonder how one takes care of oneself? In the clinical realm, Supervision as an objective examination of practice is fairly routine, I wonder if the same applies to the world of massage therapists? Your presentations are always informative and thought provoking.

I think if I lived closer to you we'd just naturally be friends. You just kind of know that when you see a person and I've always thought that about you. Your videos are so genuine and real. I love that. I don't have a particular penchant or intense interest in massage but happened to stumble on your videos a LONG time ago and since then I actually watch them to see what's going on with you. Thank you Spencer. You're a wonderful conttribution to human kind and oddly, I'm happy to know you despite the fact that you know NOTHING about me. Odd how that happens. Take care buddy.

I'm not sure if you've answered this in your previous vids, but with regards to male clients, are they apprehensive, comfortable, etc. with a male MT? I know you have your own business, so they probably know who they are going to see, but what about when you were with the big chain spa? Thanks. I'm not an MT, but similar field where I'm in contact with client's bodies and sometimes I sense that they are uncomfortable.

Those are usually fools who think it's gay to get a massage by a male. But I rather have a guy do it because they give deep pressure that most people love.
@momking76165 жыл бұрын
Hi - I’m a female LMT, and when I am working with someone new I typically ask what they want/need worked on, then I give a brief description of how I go through my massage process - especially if I think someone appears anxious about receiving massage. I make sure they know they will be covered by the draping throughout the time they are on the table. I also talk to them about massaging the gluteal and hip regions Prior to the session so they know what that entails, and share the reasons why it may be important for their particular situation. I will ask if they are comfortable with that, and if not to please let me know. Then fast forward to their next session they’re typically like “Please include the hip & glut areas, it really did help reduce my low back pain or sciatica, etc”. Best of luck, sometimes folks need to have your talk through your process of what you’re going to do so they “know what comes next” and that may help them relax. By the third session or so you can probably just do your thing.
