The frustration surrounding the diamond/glow lichen similarity, at least for me, isn't that they're so similar side by side. It's more about how, when you're sprinting through caves and see lichen out of the corner of your eye, or maybe down at the end of a cave behind some blocks, you stop because you think it's diamonds. Only for a split second, yes, but that's enough to make you have to start sprinting again, which I've read was the intention behind the similarity (tricking people). Yeah, I know. First world problems lol.
