The story with the friend coming to say goodbye was bittersweet but as humans our spirits are small so we take it very negatively. I admire shamans who face the other side every day and fight for our well being.

My grandma is buried there. The cemetery has lots of trees so it's shady, making it eerie. When my grandma passed away in the early 90's, my mom did not know how to drive then. She would take the city bus to visit her and would go often too. She usually takes my baby brother, who was probably around 3 years old. One time it was a very sunny day, and my mom and baby brother went to visit my grandma. After they were done and got on the bus to come back home, my brother turned to my mom and said grandma is waving at them. Since then, my mom went less.

My aunt told us a story once about one of her relative that lived near that cemetery who would walk through the cemetery everyday to get to the other side. Because the cemetery was so large, it was much quicker to go through it instead of around it. She would do this until one day she heard someone calling her name and asking where she was going from inside the cemetery and after refused to walk through the cemetery again.

Thanks for sharing such incredible stories. Brother Leng, you are one of the finest stories tellers. Keep up the good work. I'm recently followed your youtube stories channel. I'll just need to clarify few comments/story here in regards to Oakland Cemetery. It's the bus Rt#68 that service Jackson street. I truly respect the driver who share his experience during his/her short tenure with MTC. Myself as a driver for MTC for nearly 20 years and still driving for the company along with countless of our Hmong brothers and sisters. We've never encountered such phenomenon event. One comment stated that bus only run during daylight and night time will not pick up people or found leaves as form of payment are myth, we service the street between the hours 4am-12am.. schedule may varies during weekend and major holidays. My point here is for those who want to work as driver for MTC don't be scares. The pay is ok and the benefits are great. I understand this job is not as easy as some would think but is not impossible. If you are people person and have respect for all walks of life, you will be survive. Every job has it's pros and cons. Some people think that's a good memtoj place because they can face their love once facing the state capitol. Some think the opposite because the capitol is a place where law makers are there to debate and fight for their caused which your family may not get along well (people opinions).

This cemetery is in-between the McDonough and Mt Airy projects. My family use to live at the Mt Airy projects and would drive pass this cemetery going home from my cousins who lived at the McDonough projects late at night a lot. Going pass this cemetery was hella scary every time.

I have family buried at that cemetery! We used to walk 2-3 miles to visit my uncle’s gravesite all the time! I used to have nightmares about this cemetery. It’s huge and very beautiful though.

Oh yeahh I remember this bus stop. Heard lots of stories but never thought about it. Work and come home that's it.. My dad used to live in those Mt Airy apartments back in 05. I actually rented a house across from the cemetery too. Used to drive through jackson to get to Maryland for work all the time during night time. 🤷‍♂️

There's is story of a bus driver dropping off some passengers at Oakland cemetery. The driver watched them up the fence and disappeared into the cemetery. The bus driver fainted and was later discovered by and officer.

Buses Don’t stop there no more after 8pm 😂 don’t matter if it’s Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter. As soon as it’s 8pm or later even if there’s bus stops they won’t stop they will go right pass. I’ve experienced this before I had to walk all the way to Mt. Airy to catch the bus smh 🤦🏻‍♂️ back in 1997. Shaluss

Does anyone know anything about the deer that is always seen there? When I used to live closer to that area I would hear stories of this deer that ppl always see inside the cemetery and other ppl claimed was the "owner" of that place. But that was more than 10 years ago so not sure ...
