Hmong Shamanism - What Happens When Someone Crosses in Front of the Shaman During Trance

As I journeyed through the spiritual realms in a synchronized ceremonial quest alongside my student to bring her remaining guides home to her final alter, my connection to the spiritual world was abruptly severed.
Two children, who were playfully chasing each other had raced through the room, completely unaware of any danger. One of them crossed in front of my student and nearly fully in front of me as we tranced.
A slew of chaos erupted throughout the room, but determined to finish the ceremony, I resumed to resettle, refocus, and reconnect.
I slowly began to drift back into vibration, but the energy drifted away from me. It was too late. The connection was lost.
Reopening my pathway to the spiritual realm became a communal task at this point. Money was burned to make amends and express apologies. The child and his mother apologized to the spirits. I called my Xifu, who consoled me and called my guides back. My student’s grandmother, another shaman in attendance, also assisted.
When I started again, I could feel the strength of the energy return. I restarted everything as if I was re-entering the home again. We concluded the ritual successfully, but following this incident, my energy continued to feel off, and I underwent a period of recovery. I had to raise my guides again and hu plig for them to come back home, using a male and female chicken given to me by the family of my student.
Incidents like these are things we only hear about in stories. Our capacity to effect change is heavily reliant on the working connections we build with the spirits.
Moving forward, I would encourage anyone performing such ceremonies to safeguard both sides of the session, especially if children are present.

Here's to why kids and/or anyone CAN NOT cross through lub thaj (shrine) and tu txiv/niam neeb (male/female shaman); while the shaman are in the "other realm" and when this happen, it cause their spiritual power weaken (qhua neeb), and it will make the shaman bedridden and it prevent them to perform rituals for others. This video is fatal because most ritual take only 1 shaman but this one is a "heavy" one. The parent of the kid have to compensate the shaman eggs and 2 chicken. Since it's modern day, money is use to compensate the damage of the shaman's qhua neeb. I hope this explains to why for those who aren't familiar with it or have not seen it.

@@davadh I agree, it would be better if it was given a cow as offering to the shaman. But if you think about it, back in the olden primitive time, it is hard to buy off chickens and eggs due to farm life with so little to eat and hard to earn money.

@@7angetwilz I'm assuming the payment is for the shaman and not the spirit? I also think it's interesting that the shaman or spirit would charge a person according to the times. As you said, money is used today but could someone still repay them with just eggs and 2 chickens, which would translate to about $30 give or take. All that said, that is such a forgiving or low price to pay for such a fatal incident.

Bro as a Hmong, the two people who were sitting on the bench are supposed to contact the spirits and they are not allowed to move at all not even helping the kid so if the kid is disturbing the tradition that is actually gonna cause a bad thing so the people will not be blessed

To what I understand someone who have cross infront the shaman when they on their way of jingle nothing happen to the kid or family but it will happen for the shaman..they will get either punishment for that..remember anything that have to do with shaman nothing will happen to the people who cross in front or the family it only happen to the shaman..they will either get punishment for everything...that is y we normal people who don't have guidance have to respect n watch their kid..

Pretty much you just kill the Shaman by walking in front of them. Eventually they will get sick and die afterward. It's serious stuff. But of course we need an update on those two Shamen if they survived or not.

It's the scariest for a kid to watch what a shaman go through. My dad was one and it's so scary and intense to watch him. I've never seen anyone shaman like he did. He had a few incident where the adults were careless and a kid cross him. He would freeze as soon as the kid cross and not move. He always have someone behind him so they hold him up. My mom has to use the dragon water and gong to revive him. Once he's back, he would take his stuff and leave. One time he didn't because the house already know how to apologize and do the ritual to satisfy his soldiers. As a kid growing up and even as an adult it's so nerve racking when he does that. I was always scared that he had pass. My dad shaman way requires people who knows how to handle him so he will not do shaman unless the uncles and my older brother watch him. It was said that when the spirit called for him to be a shaman, he was unconscious for many days and on the final night, a grandpa said if he doesn't wake up in the morning than he's gone. He did wake up and woke he did with some strong shaman spirit.
