Lovely work john, each time you have chosen a new kit I have questioned the choice because the new project didn’t strike me as better than the last. Yet after watching you build for several projects now I have come to realize that each of these vessels are stunning on their own. I didn’t think Beagle would be interesting after Montanes yet she is beautiful. In addition, and I hope I don’t sound patronizing, I think you as a builder are improving with each build. PerHaps that is Wolf’s influence😁 Keep it up John, I find your builds both fascinating and informative. It surely adds a level of difficulty to film and edit on top of an already complicated model. Love it. At 81 you have inspired me to keep going. I have ordered the "Terror" as my next build mainly because the museum that has my "Victory" already has a "Beagle." It is a very interesting ship with a great storyline that is of special interest to Canadians. I am using your info on the Beagle as a guideline to approximately how long it will take to build. At my age, I am lucky to retain my abilities to build except for my endurance. The building sessions are shorter as I get tired easily. It may take me twice as long, more than a year I suppose. Thanks for the inspiration. Cheers! John.

Many thanks for putting the time & effort into producing your video output, it is invaluable to a complete novice such as myself & judging by the comments on the individual episodes to the wider modelling community also. I stumbled over your channel by accident and quickly developed an urge to build the Beagle. I also quickly realised upon watching the double Hull planking episodes that I was watching an undoubted craftsman with a great deal of experience and that I'd be biting off more than I could chew. I've therefore ordered the Polaris and plan an Xmas start. I intend to apply techniques you have explained into my build. Do you have any 'weathered' examples within your published videos or do you prefer the ships to look as 'new'? Again, thank you for the inspiring content, bringing people into this hobby that would otherwise find the challenge to daunting to contemplate. The additional time & effort for content creation is respected & appreciated.
@JohnsWoodenShips3 жыл бұрын
I cannot thank you enough for your kind words!!! I really appreciate this comment!!! Thank so much!!! I like my ships to be new, so you won't find any weathering in my series. I am also welcoming you aboard to this amazing hobby. I my self believe that the hardest parts of the modeling are the wooden sail ships and dioramas. You will make many mistakes, do not worry about that, that's the idea, that 's how you will learn. After 2-3 models you will see how you have evolved and you will be able to make works of art! In any case if you'll need any help do not hesitate to ask me :) Thank you again!!!

Hi David!Thank you very much for your kind words! When i was a kid i went 7 years to private school ,from there i've learned the basics. When i was in my teens i was watching my favorite tv show , Married with children. There i had the problem that the translation in the subs wasn't correct and many times the joke came 1st and the subs took ages. So i decided to watch it without reading the subs. That was the beginning, then through many movies,series and pc games i formed the accent and the way you are hearing me :)

It is an easy model, the difficulty on this model is the rigging, not enough space on the deck to tie the ropes. Also you have to be very careful with the painting, the white is a difficult color. The hull is pretty easy and the deck also. You will enjoy this one!
