Hi John! I can see that it's going to be a beautiful model. The ship that was on the catalog is the Swedish ship Vasa that is located in the Vasa museum here in Sweden. She sank 1628 after a wind that made the whole ship capsize and sink. 1956 she was toed to shore and put in a museum.

From what I see this is going to be an exciting journey to watch (the trailer as they call it for a new series looks very promising) already looking forward to the next 2 models you going to build.But first the finish and grand finale of the Beagle.

Hello John, thanks for this interesting video! Artesania has been one of the top model making companies for me to this day. 😀 I mean, a construction kit includes a 1:1 plan made of paper, just to build masts and yards as well as small parts. Good that I know that now. The different woods in the construction kits were also a trademark of Artesania. Also saved away 🙁 I'm looking forward to the construction - but now a little irritated at first

Hey John I'm still busy with the ropes of the older version of the HMS Endeavour from Artesania Latina. But this one looks verry different. In the older version there are not so much lazercut materials. And for me a paper manual is always better. In the older box there are different types of wood. It looks Artesania downgrade this model to an easier to made model. Because of alot of lazercut. It's not my thing anymore. 😒 I like a little more challenges in my builds. I like your videos alot. And in still verry curries how you build this model. I'm looking FWD to the La Candelaria because I build this one to. My Next model is the Prins Willem from Corel. I start that one in a couple of weeks. An my model beyond that is the Souverin of the seas.

@Илья that's to bad. I look at the price on there website. And it costs €279,-. Pfff that's alot of a box of plywood and wite iron. The older version of this model cost €189,-and is from a much higher quality. I think a have to let go Artesania. To bad because I made different models of this brand and it was just fine as it was.

I haven't seen the old model but since i have made 3 models from Artesania i will agree with you. This one is different, can't say if it's going to be easier or harder but i will give it a shot :)

Very diplomatic John, I see this being very challenging but fun to do and a lot of new skills at this level. Best of luck I will be following along . This will be fun. You might have to printer off the PDF a few pages at a time , I can see going back and forth from work bench to computer not being a lot of fun. Painting the figurines will be very hard for me to do have not done much of that but it looks like fun. Good luck and I will be waiting with anticipation.

It is challenging my friend, seems easy but it is not. Yes i agree ,some steps might need printing, especially in the rigging part. The figurines is something new to me, we will see how it will go! We will talk soon :)

I've just completed the OcCre Endeavour. It took me 6 months and was a challenge but very rewarding. It will be interesting to see the subtle differences between the Artesania kit and the OcCre kit when you begin this one.

@@JohnsWoodenShips They are the absolute worst kits around, and the fact they are probably 1960's vintage, means the wood is horrible. I got them from a hobby shop that was clearing out ship models....so a very good price. Sure taught me a lot of working around terrible instructions

John, I bought a device called a Ratliner, That is similar to the device you got from AL. The problem I had was how to install the completed ratlines on my HMS Terror. You need to run the vertical lines from the dead eyes through the "completed" mast and back down. I could not see how to install them on the completed and installed mast. I used the method you have been showing on your videos. I will be interested in seeing what you can figure out with your tool.

John, I agree using knots looks much better. I feel that you could use the tool and tie knots, but I still have not figures out how to attach the ratlines to the mast. I have not found a link to AL yet to look at their site. - Paul

John, printing from the CDs could be a problem, especially for the 1:1 scale drawings, When I started building my HMS Terror, I went to a shop that makes copies and was able to have them make copies of the 1:1 scale deck plan. Here in the U.S. some of those companies can print directly from the CD.

Your going to want to print those instructions out. I got the CD with the LeHermionie ship. It was not fun trying to do it on the laptop screen.

Hi John, I have the same CD for the Victory of Artesania latina, but when i print the plan of the mats on paper 21 x 29,7 it's not a scale 1/1. It's very difficult to put at the goods dimensions. When you look the plans of the Endeavour, it's the same problem or not?

John, my first model, last year was the Launch from the Endeavour, so I will be very keen to follow you in the making of the full Endeavour. However, with Candelaria to follow the Beagle, it does seem a long way off, yet! One thing, however, my computer (iPad) does not have a cd slot, so do you know if the instructions are available on line or in hard copy?

It is an historical model :) I estimate that it will take around 7 months before i begin building it. Yes you can download the instructions from Artesania's page, in the model's page there is a link for downloading :)

Hi Artur! The Mercedes and Diana are single plank hull so they are more difficult than they seems. Also more expensive so that means more detail so harder. La Candelaria seems more easy but if i compare her with the Beagle then i believe that some parts are going to be tough. The la Fayette seems to be like the Endeavour but simpler. I do not believe that the Endeavour is for beginners, i think that it is more in advance field. I would go either La Candelaria or la Fayette .

Artesania has a history, it is not waffle. Santa Ana was and still is the BEST model i ever made. Look it up in ebay, it has one at 56.000 $, how 's that for a waffle?
