Wonderful Radio London BIG L, was scrapped, I was also on The Wakeful. To cut this story dawn a bit, when I left the RN, as a semi-pro, with a day job, I joined a "POP GROUP" We cut 2 tracks, didn't chart, along the way, I formed other groups, then, in 1994, I had to turn FULLY PROFESSIONAL, I couldn't fit the "DAY JOB" in anymore. I am now full Equity! I did cabaret for Haven Holidays, then I was an Entertainment Manager for some years. I recorded over 8 albums, and 3 double albums, years later, I became a radio presenter, on my local Hospital Radio Station, here in Portsmouth. A guy in The Midlands, tuned in, and got my show on so many other internet radio station, featuring, "THE PIRATE RADIO SHOW!!!!"

How strange I could have sworn the mast was facing towards the parade ground I was there in 1970 … enjoyed Ganges and the following 9 years … BTW I was Ark Royals flight deck party when you were doing your Badger bit, we were probably on deck together for many hundreds of launches :)

Were you there that day when during a launch … Phantom loaded and ready to go to re-heat when a Fish Head came onto the flight deck using the Badgers Lair ladder? He came up right next to your lot and got tacked to the ground & dragged across the flight deck by your guys as soon as they realised he was there :) The Captain was not amused ;)

I was there in 1965... 80 Recruitment... Collingwood 44 mess... Then went on to HMS Mercury...

Hi, I was there in 1965 - 78 recruitment, Exmouth 41 mess, CRS Jones, CY Durant then also went on to Mercury, Rowley Hutchins

Very sad . Joined Ganges 23rd September 1975 . Left the RN 2nd February 2017 , Submarines only . End of run Good run .

Well Phillip, I joined The TS ARETHUSA, opposite Chatham Dockyard, in 1965, at the age of 13, we had a very close relationship with the navy, we were always going over there, I was a multi-instrumentalist in the ship band, trained by a Royal Marine Sgnt. At the age of 15, I went to Ganges, learning to be a stoker, I was in the band, trained, again, and performing alongside them, I formed a "POP GROUP" there, that I called, "THE PROVOKERS" just to show "THE ELDERS" that, YOUNGSTERS ARE NOW HERE! I climbed that mast, TWICE!!!! DUMB! DUMB! Just the lightening conductor between my "GOOLIES!!!!" That was in the day of, "PIRATE RADIO" Radio Caroline South, was still on the horizon, Caroline North, still off The Isle Of Man, I will send this bit as my computer deletes messages after a certain time.

A 3 hour show, Tuesday and Thursday, 14.00 to 17.00 Laser 558 in the 80's, Radio Caroline in the 70's as she was the only ship to carry on, then, back to The 60's, with, Wonderful Radio London BIG L! I had "SUPERSTARS" doing "Phone In's" frrom around the world! Thanks to my PR Manager, I HAD OVER FIFTEEN MILLION LISTENERS WORLDWIDE!!!! Using hundreds of origional jingles! I told "MANAGEMENT" of my sucess.......AND I WAS FIRED!!!! SAD BUNCH! If you would like the radio show CD's, FREE OF CHARGE, quite a few! You will need to give me a contact address.
