The U.K did not insist that their capital ships were invincible, everybody knew that no ship is unsinkable. The names and adjectives used to describe the vessels were for nothing more than propaganda, intimidation and morale. Would you feel more at ease being aboard a ship named Indefatigable or Fragile?? Would you rather choose to attack a ship named Indomitable or Puny??

@@novaalkronthe1st910 What world do you live in? Nobody insisted any warship was unsinkable and all Jutland proved was that the Dreadnought was ultimately a success and Britain continued to dominate as a Naval power. ***** Well her AA was decent- it was good enough to repel the attacks that came. She was crippled by a lucky torpedo behind the armour belt that caused her propellers to spin out of control and wreck her stern. She was listing over very hard after that and her AA guns were pointed too high to prevent the next torpedo runs which hit underneath her armour belt.

Great job done by Japanese torpedo bombers in Nov 1941 in South China Sea.
