The U.K did not insist that their capital ships were invincible, everybody knew that no ship is unsinkable. The names and adjectives used to describe the vessels were for nothing more than propaganda, intimidation and morale. Would you feel more at ease being aboard a ship named Indefatigable or Fragile?? Would you rather choose to attack a ship named Indomitable or Puny??

***** Well her AA was decent- it was good enough to repel the attacks that came. She was crippled by a lucky torpedo behind the armour belt that caused her propellers to spin out of control and wreck her stern. She was listing over very hard after that and her AA guns were pointed too high to prevent the next torpedo runs which hit underneath her armour belt.

They had plenty. The trouble is all the AA in the world won't save you if you don't have an aircraft carrier along. Battleships turned out to be horrifyingly vulnerable.

She was as "wet" as Hood, apparently. Never got the rebuild Renown received just before the war. Renown survived the war. It's a shame they didn't make her a Museum Ship; the Last Battlecruiser!

just on a positive note on that one , the guys working on the scrap saw bones in it ,and after a bit of figuring out and guess work took the bones to a comonweath war cemetry . that was the actions of the ordinary guys and girls not the industrailists.

I öike it tbh. Its hard to do well in but a 5 star but its cheap and gets rly big guns. Sure its a bad ship but i luke it alot, even managed to kill a Bismarck with it in the battle of the Atlantic mode where all my major Battleships where being repaired

Great job done by Japanese torpedo bombers in Nov 1941 in South China Sea. Prince of Wales had earlier managed to escape by launching smoke screen bombs ,in the Battle of Denmark Straits in May 1941 . The honour of sending HMS Prince of wales to the locker of Old Davy Jones was left for the Japanese.

Churchill was hell bent on maintaining Englands slave colonies in Singapore etc and made a ill advised decision to send force Z in without air cover. The mission should have been scrapped when the Carrier that was to accompany them ran around. A desk Admiral was placed in command and well you know the rest of the story.
