Been watching a bunch of your videos lately and you’re the go to guy to watch. I’m just finishing off the Calypso from Billing Boats and might do the Victory next. I think all model builders need to do a Victory ship at some stage.

@@JohnsWoodenShipscan I ask what manufacturers have the best Victory? The Panart version looks good and although they are part of Mantua they do have their own Victory version. Occre have that mega expensive version so I’m down to Billing and Panart. Any recommendations?

@@philsreef746 The OcCre one has the best materials but it has no Hull and it's far too expensive for that. The Caldercraft is a very good one but i choose Billing Boats and i wasn't wrong. It is a very good model, well made and cheaper than the other 2. Mantua is a good one but i think that it is a bit worst than the Billing Boats. The thing is how much money you are willing to spend and what you want to build. For example, in the OcCre one you won't use paint so you can see the different types of wood.

I am watching the movie, Master and Commander. I love the ships, but I don’t know if I could handle being a crew member. But I remember the line from the 1962 movie, Mutiny on the Bounty, when Captain Bligh asked Marlon Brando’s, Mr Christian, why he chose the navy? His reply was, I thought the army was too dusty! Valid point!

I agree, those men had courage and big b....s. They were climbing to the top of the masts with bad weather and they were fighting battles with cannons and swords.

I have 2 houses that i am filling up. Right now i am having a problem because i don't have enough space. So i give some of my models away. Tried to sell them but in Greece they want a model that has a kit price at 500 euros and 11 months of work ,for 100 euros, so i prefer to give them away as a gift to someone i want than sell them for that price. I even prefer to destroy them if needed than give them at that price. Eventually i will run out of models that i want to give away...
