I don't know... watch how fast the clock expires when JR releases. He would have to pass it and Clarkson would have to set and shoot. *Maybe* there was enough time--but no guarantee. It's tough to say what the right decision was. If JR had made the shot no one would have even noticed Clarkson was open. Also, look closely at #2 because he is very likely in the passing lane which means JR would have to lob it over him wasting even more time.

They should have traded J.R Smith All the new guys are new to the playoffs. LeBron needs to somehow carry them through this round and they MAY be better come the second round. I wouldn't bank on it tho. But the biggest issue is that Kyrie was traded and they traded him for essentially nothing up to this point

Everyone is saying Lebron needs help but I blame that offensive gamelan. Everytime Lebron has the ball he goes iso and everyone else clears out and just spots up. Lebron either tries to score or drives and kicks to a shooter for a decent shot, but not a good shot. But they could get much better shots with some movement and picks. The role players aren't being put in a good position to help Lebron. 4 guys standing there watching Lebron and occasionally taking a semi-contested shot isn't good offense. Lebron and Ty Lue need to get some pick n roll going or something and get Lebron's usage rate and turnovers down with some team focused offense
@kbthegoat8246 жыл бұрын
ETW4life the coach that tried to implement a system got fired for ty lue lol. lebron doesn't want to play in a system where he doesn't do everything it's been obvious for years. he feels he's so talented he got to do everything create his shot and have his teammates depend on him, when he can just pick a role and stick to it like being a scorer for example and let someone grow into a point guard. even with kyrie they gave kyrie the role to just score while lebron could do everything.
@etw4life9706 жыл бұрын
Yanick T yeah that's why no PG should want to play with him. Lebron is going to run the show and any other PG better learn to be a SG. Even Kevin Love went from being the best rebounder in the league to just a spot up guy. Lebron is the best player in the league but doesn't play to the strengths of his team, everyone has to play off him and it results in Lebron having big game while everyone else watches and gets blamed for not helping
@lionemporor6 жыл бұрын
ETW4life They did play with Lebron off the ball in the first half and it worked amazingly! When was the last time you saw a kevin love feed to a cutting george hill...and when was the last time you saw an assist from rodney hood to Kevin Love under the hoop. Both great examples of ball movement and not relying on Lebron Brons gotta play off the ball more and let the other guys play free. I know game 1 was horrible but still, they played amazing the first half moving the ball. They were 57 to 40 at half time, then like you said Lebron went into Iso mode...sure enough couldn't score, then his teammates got tight, they couldn't score, leading to turn overs and ....they get owned. Kyle Korver missed 3 out of 3 3 pointers late..if he made 1 of em the CAVS win, JR smith went 2 from 8 from 3, if he shot better the CAVS would have won. These 2 are starters, they are there for this exact reason..to score/spread the floor I think the CAVS are a much better team, they just have to play free and think for themselves

ETW4life you know basketball better than 85 percent of the talking heads in media
@CREOLEHEAT6 жыл бұрын
ETW4life, I've been saying this. The Cavs entire offense is "watch & wait for LeBron". They always just watch what he does or someone else isos when LeBron isn't. Their bench unit looked so good at the beginning of the season because the bench unit ran completely different offensive sets than the starters did. I have yet to see a James/Love PnR. They only run PnR to get switches for LeBron. Not to get the guy who screened a look or even for Bron to drive. Most times, he gets the switch & keeps dribbling . Their offense is too predictable. Isos & 3s all game long.

Out of Jordan, Kobe, Lebron is the less « technical skilled » basketball player. On the offensive hand he relies 9/10times on his shoulder bulldozer bullying defenders. Any random player doing that would be called for a charge in 99% of the situations. It’s actually crazy how Lebron has a preferential treatment with the refs
@blxckjeezus47676 жыл бұрын
If a player is 6'8' 250, quick, strong, athletic and PLAYS SMALL FORWARD. 9/10 that player would drive to the rim because he's big, strong and athletic enough to finish at the rim.

And You can't even compare Kobe/Jordan to LeBron when he plays a different position, plays a different style of basketball and also have you have to body type into account.

What basketball do y’all watch?? Watch the games Lance does that same thing over and over bullies the life out weak ass love. And also treatment with the refs?? That’s why he shot a career low in free throw attempts and just about every other superstar has gotten either thrown out via rage or voiced their opinion about crappy calls this season i was once told people will believe what they want to.. and here we are instead of actually following basketball for the whole season and paying attention to other players people like you just watch lebron and look for something to say you hell you need to stop slurping his balls
@Simon-mj1im6 жыл бұрын
are u seriously comparing Lance stephenson to Lebron James 33 yo more than 10 seasons in the league and has no valid signature move, or should i say trash preferential treatment on his shoulder he always put in front and doesn't get punish for a charge?????? How the refs can penalize a defender to be pushed away all the way back to antarctic cause of Lebron charging everytime? Thats just bullshit
@xCallxMExJJx6 жыл бұрын
Simon CODRON did I compare lance and lebron in any way?? No I didn’t if you use some reading comprehension you would see that I said lance has been doing the same thing your accusing lebron of during this whole series aka the first bucket of the game it goes both ways man if you want lebron to get called for the shoulder charges that means lance is getting a whole lot of calls too

Dude I complain about that with my friends so much. Every single time the same play. Lebron pounds the ball at the 3 point line. Some weak ass pick and roll where the defenders switch. Then another 10s of Lebron pounding the ball going nowhere and then taking off balance jumpers with 2s left. Fucking awful no system offense. At this point idk if its lebron or the coach or both

all you guys are talking about how smith needed to see someone open on the last play...but he’s trying to dribble down the court on the last play with one second left and think about how to shoot the ball so he couldn’t have seen anyone and even if he did nobody could have got the shot off in time credit to the pacers for defending that last play so well
@javv39736 жыл бұрын
he had one man on him up until almost half court where the guy guarding Clarkson doubled JR, these r professionals, JR could have done better and I'm sure he knows. Yes there were only 5 secs left but wat were the odds of JR making it while being guarded. He should have thought pass first even before he received the ball. Throwing the ball at Clarkson is a whole lot faster than JR muscling his way with or without a defender. Lonzo Ball could've made that pass, and he would've known the only way and best chance to get the win was to pass to Clarkson.
@seanphillips33486 жыл бұрын
Jr should've never been in rebounding position in the first place. His strength is spot up shooting so he should've been down the court waiting for the pass. That was just a terrible play by the cavs.
@joscanvalenzuela10676 жыл бұрын
Jake Knoeller there was planty of time man 5 seconds left they easily could of make a 3 point shoot with someone more open
@CREOLEHEAT6 жыл бұрын
Jake Knoeller, exactly. And l, there was no guarantee that Clarkson would've even got the shot off in time. The Pacers defended it very well. They could've blew it with that miss as there was still 5 seconds left on the clock when it missed. Credit to their defense. One of the few reasons they are up 2-1 outside of games from Dipo & Bogie.
@michaelkilcoin31896 жыл бұрын
JR. Smith is not a play maker! Where was LeBron? He would have gotten the rebound if he didn't leave the foul line. Where is Korver? JR. Smith is at the bottom on the free throw line? Dumbest thing I've ever seen!
