Alot of people are too busy hating Don than listening to him , he always has some great pearls of wisdom in his rants , and you won't find a more patriotic and heartfelt Canadian in this great country!

Exactly and look what happened 2 years ago? Rogers and Sportsnet gave the haters what they wanted and gave us supporters seething with hatred and rage towards them for firing Grapes, not only I blame Rogers and Sportsnet, I even blamed those damned haters for it and that made 2019 far worse for me, worst year of the decade.

People always hate on Donnie, but the man is always hitting the nail on the head. NHL should put him in charge of safety regulations. Teams wouldn't have so many injuries if Don's suggestions actually fell on the GM's ears. If you're a fan of hockey then you shouldn't have any dispute to players not getting seriously injured. This stuff is getting rediculous - the blindside headshots, blatant elbows/knees, and crosschecking/slashing behind the play. It's like I'm watching squirts hockey

It's amazing how much sense Don's recommendations make regarding safety, yet the NHL just can't figure it out. Smaller equipment, safer arenas, it's not, as Don would say, "rocket surgery". FIGURE IT OUT NHL.

I can agree with Don on almost everything he said, except the part about Bobby Orr, he said he did all right, wasn't his career shortened by injuries, maybe not to the head but still...come on Don
@CC-me4yx3 жыл бұрын
botched knee surgery because Orr wanted to get back in the NHL asap. Doctor did a VERY poor job and his career ended shortly after. Orr would've been on par/better than Larry Robinson, had his career not ended so early.. never was there as dominant a player who could control the game like orr other than Gretzky, howe, and lemieux/Jagr. of those 4, none are defensemen.

Go back to 1970s and 1980s sized shoulder and elbow pads, and also bring back the Jofa 235 helmet that Gretzky and many other NHL players wore back then as well.
@Musicrecords107 жыл бұрын
The Jofa helmets were stupid and offered hardly any protection

I wish the NHL would just go back to those old school equipment which has foam/sponge in them, but the current ones still has plastic and that's what causes concussions and broken jaws. But those NHL right winged idiots hadn't take Cherry's suggestions, they would've killed players careers like this. That's one of the many reasons why I quit watching hockey.

Imagine Chelios' brutal elbow on Propp in the 93 playoffs with these pads.. He would've ended his career then and there. Bring back the foam padding and you wont have players running/charging each other from half way across the rink either; they'd hurt themselves as much or more than they'd hurt their opponent.
