Trump might deserve criticism for not attending last year because of rain, but not for not wearing a poppy when attending this year? Grapes is having a hissy fit over something trivial. Started going to Hamilton fairly regularly, for several years. Actually met Grapes there one night! After the Jays won the World Series, the franchisee turned the place into LA Batts. Sucked! Not knowing what happened, took a couple buds there. Ordered about $100 worth of food and drink. I'm looking around in utter shock and bewilderment. Waitress bring the food and booze..... I say to her "What the hell is going on here?" She gives me the speech about the changeover. I was so distraught, I said to the guys " Let's go!" They thought I was nuts. I couldn't stay another second. Put 2 $100 bills on the table (American, I might add), and said, "we're outta here!" Called information and found the next closest location in Mississauga; we drove there and all was right with the world! Never set foot in Hamilton again!

Say what you like about Don Cherry the person, he is right a lot of the time about hockey. Especially if fights were allowed as they once were it would stop the cheap shots, allow the players to police themselves. Plus those that watch hockey enjoy seeing a fight now and then. What they should have is fight rules. Drop the gloves and take the helmet off and punch away.

Lol there’s a multi-billion dollar industry on fighting strictly, it’s called the UFC.. why are the lefties complaining about the odd hockey scrap seriously ?

Cherry speaks his heart and gets fired. That creature on the CTV specifically targets white males and she's given a pass. That shows what's wrong with this world. GOOD LUCK getting me to watch hockey night in Canada again.

A lot of what he said back then predicted Donald Trump's xenophobic nationalism and plain, crude demeanour 15 or so years in the future. Seen through that lens, he doesn't seem so charming and amusing - unless you see Trump as being someone to revere.

Canada needs this man and it betrayed him. Shame. I had the privilege of meeting him twice as a kid at streetsville derby games. He would just stand quietly watching alone at the top of the stands. Much like my father. Those interactions with him and my father are diamond memories for me

Yes, get the invisible man to bless him. stuff him, and put him in a museum. Madam tussauds I think. In the no longer relevant dusty section.
