Why doesn't James just tell Warren or Norma about Kane and have them deal with him?

Kane threatened James and warning over his son Romeo's safety.

wonder if Kane may end up Killing Romeo and in revenge James keeps up the lie that he's the one who killed Ella and maybe manipulates Warren or Norma into having him killed in prison and all this causes friction between James and ste since James blames him for Romeo's death given he only set Kane up to protect Ste. and Ste judges James for basically having a man murdered.
