The problem is Hooh is a defender. Revving is a support job. Defender frontlines and is usually the first to get KO’d in the team fight. Support would be the one in the back who can then rev the tank. That’s why it is so hard to see it put into use.

Yeah, that was my thought too. Its very oddly built. Classified as a Defender, with a supporter unite, but seems to fight a lot like Charizard (All Arounder) Honestly, I haven't seen the Unite really matter, aka be effective, yet.

It almost makes sense to be a defender but it doesn't in the end. Revival should be away from the front lines, otherwise it's just a double if not triple K.O. with me included. Teammates should revive at full HP otherwise most KO again as soon as they're revived if we're not next to our goal zone or they run right back in instead of retreating too like WHY DID I REVIVE YOU THEN UGH

Exactly! Maybe that's why it has a kit with lots of mobility, but I've seen that it really does need to be cowardly to really use its unite at all (which is the opposite of a defender).

@@MusicComet yeah sometimes gotta run away and not die otherwise who will bring the team back at the objectives. Rarely do I have a teammate who can revive, heal, KO everyone with me, and take out the goal zone. I got to masters on day 1 with Ho-oh, people say it's for novices but I don't think so. It's less about power and more about logic. Side note: you can tell people don't know how to play with Ho-oh yet either cos I revive and they just STAND there for a good 10 seconds like "Oh wait wut 😅*dies again*" even though I pinged "retreat" beforehand and "watch out" after ☠️.

Well, the main problem with Ho-Oh's Unite move is not that it is hard to use (which is), but most people are not used to being revived very quick, which leads to revived mates idling until they are dead again. In other words, not so many players know how Ho-Oh works despite its popularity after the leaks.

Honestly, rework tenacity. Every Pokémon should get a base cooldown between CCs, then every point of tenacity extends that CC immunity 1%. That way each individual use of a CC effect can be powerful and consistent across all Pokémon, but loses value when spammed onto a single target so they cannot act at all.

Nooooo!!! the leech life changes were pretty darn good. I would have liked them to make that a permanent change rather than a bug. Faster leech life meant better burst, better heal and not being stunned out of the move by hindrances. Also for the whole tenacity change, it would have been a great addition and maybe they should consider making that permanent too. And maybe they want to but since the world's are so close they thought otherwise. Stuns are op in this game and changes like that would definitely be accepted by the playerbase with open arms.

It's really not perfect. But it is good. The buff isn't bad, and your Unite charge rate is increased. What id have liked was just for the unite to grant the revived mons their own unite buff for a reduced amount of time. Which is worse than what they're doing. If this buff is too much, I hope its nerfed quick. But in solo queue, the Unite is a 50/50 troll move

This doesn't really fix it's problems. Ho-oh is maybe a top 3 defender, to be stronger it would need a passive change like how m2/I think a few of the eevees get partial hindrance resistance, or getting it added to it's moves (ie; sky attack). This is really just a sidegrade.

People saying the ult needs the buffs are crazy to me. Just because you aren’t getting a 4-man res every single teamfight doesn’t mean the ult needs buffed. When it takes an entire team’s effort and abilities and even unite abilities to kill your enemy team it SHOULDN’T be easy and guaranteed to just tap a button and undo that. Idk what it is with people being fine with supportive abilities being power-crept when if it was an offensive unite that got buffed when it was already fight-swaying people would be pissing and crying.

Seems more like a sidegrade. Slower charging, but allies come back with a tiny bit more hp. 50% was kind of extremely low, and 60% is going to be barely different. You aren't reviving another tank most likely, so whoever comes back is likely one skill away from death anyway.

Guys theres also a bug in Offline Mode. It always pauses right when the timer reaches exactly 7:35. Like today, when I tried playing in offline mode with Ceruledge, it stopped at exactly 7:35, also with Zacian, Mewtwo, Meowscarada, Mr Mime, and almost all of the pokemon.

What about the fire spin bug on Ho-oh? I've had it happen multiple times where Fire Spin does zero damage even on wild Pokemon. Hopefully they fix that next patch but the buffs are reasonable. Ho-oh was pretty balanced upon release being easily countered. I did find I could only use the Unite move one, maybe two times a match. So hopefully this makes it more usable throughout the match now.

Glad it wasn't just me. Fire Spin explosion not activating the damage for whatever reason actually costed me a few matches in ranked. I also had a problem with Flamethrower just randomly not activating, even when I mash the button while idle. It also can just get stuck even when I let go. Super weird.

Not sure about flamethrower but someone in another comment said that the fire spin bug happens when you buffer an auto attack right after fire spin ends. So if you’re trying to blow up the shield and start auto attacking right after, it seems like the explosion actually gets cancelled by the attack. Definitely a bug but if you wait a split second to start auto attacking you should be fine. Helped me a lot

Ho-Oh changes are fine, it doesn't make it broken. I might be wrong but aeos energy requirements for its unite move don't need to be buffed, they are just fine. Jake didn't read the last bug fix, but it is huge. It gives an unfair advantage to opposing team. As for tenacity bug fix, I am fine with devs fixing it because this makes some moves unplayable to some extent and buffs some moves in an unintended way. Instead the requirement is to have reducing effects on chain stuns aka diminishing returns, also this ensures move that is not part of chain stun as good it is. If they make this work reasonably, I am all for it. On a side note, I didn't knew this could happen in practice mode, at 11:15 larvitar was using sand storm, the move that's obtained at level 9. Maybe moves haven't been reset for that moment.

The Ho-oh part means that the effect is stronger but the requirements for you to activate it (i.e the Aeos energy and Unite recharge time) are also a bit harder. imo, it's more of an adjustment so that you need to at least have 8 Aeos energy per ally you want to revive (Though you'd need 50 to revive all 4 of them in a worst case scenario).

Honestly would've preferred the tenacity difference from the start of the game. Having differences in that stat between all mons makes a huge difference in CC play. Especially for any ambushed ur team tries to set up. Some mons stun longer while others don't could change the entirety of a team fight

I think this change is beneficial for unite since the current meta is sort of CC based. However, I was landing Talon unite into 5 enemies and leaving them behind in different spots. Did not feel great tho. I believe some moves should keep working the way it did.

I have played like 70 ho-oh games and have only had one good play with its unite. It’s just not that easy to know when to use because a lot of times you’re relying on your teammates to capitalize on the fact they were revived.

The best time to use it IMO is when your team is down but you can secure/steal Rayquaza. If you can time it right before, all 5 members with shields are headed towards the opposite goal zones 😎. Second best is when you lost Rayquaza and still won. I revived my team and they scored while two of us defended we won by like 10 points. Third id say revival when defending against regieleki cos the goal zone is right there they can go from 50/60% HP to 100% fast. Just wish people would stop jumping back in, away from safety, just to get KO twice in a row 🥲.

I just realized that they didn’t use ho ohs sacred fire for its move kit. Very strange, should be a given that if a pokemon has a signature move that it be worked into its four moves or unite move somehow.

Maybe it doesn’t need a buff but just being stunned out of all your moves except fly and the bug where fire spin doesn’t do dmg is really annoying there are times where I’m gonna use a move like flamethrower and against anything with a constant stun and I just die like outrage dragonite destroys me constant stuns are a big counter to ho oh but I guess that’s for every character still it just gets really annoying when you get stunned out of sky attack and flamethrower

ho-oh's unite move is reaaally strong. like rez abilities in any game are always controversial, so ho-oh's unite being situational and taking a bit of brain to use is fine. it's not "hard" to use, you just have to use it at the right times lol. but well, it doesn't sound like these buffs will break the game so we'll see

It did seemed like busted at first but the restrictions for using it effectively is pretty troublesome to have as big of an impact as we thought. Maybe competitively it could have worked but it's an ex mon and banned in competitive.

Take away all the stuns, people are building their whole entire team around stunning people so that their whole team can gang up on them They should at least buff full heal to last longer or something or make the emblems for hinders actually work
