I always come back to this layout for inspiration as Im trying to recreate the Ontario north and Im always analyzing how this scenery looks so perfect and I have to say the foliage and ballast colors used are just spot on.

Great video... the layout has really come a long way. Just beautiful. I was really happy to see you running the "Canadian." It brought back a lot of memories. I worked on this train starting in 1972. It used to depart daily from Montreal's Windsor Station... train #1. Train #2 would be in the yard the next morning for maintenance to get it ready to go out the next morning. All maintenance and repairs were done in the Glen Yard, Montreal. Via Rail took over in 1978, although they weren't set up to do their repairs and maintenance until around 1980, so CP Rail was contracted to continue the upkeep for another couple of years. When the train pulled out of Montreal it was made up of 7 cars... one baggage car (600 series) one coach (100 series) one skyline (500 series) one dining car (named after high end CP restaurants) one sleeper (Manor) another sleeper (Chateau) and of course one Park car (named after Canadian national parks) In those days the train was heated with steam as was the hot water. My job was looking after the gas stove and ovens. First thing was to check and change out the large propane bottles. Then I checked out and cleaned the stove burners, ovens and grills. I would go down with the train to Windsor station every morning to make sure all was well when the crew took over the kitchens. The first stop was Westmount station which was right beside the Glen yard. That's where I would get off. Yes, so many fond memories of that train. Thanks for posting!!!

Great layout I remember catching the Canadian at longlac in about 1995 that station was there, I also remember the kinghorn sub as it went through nipigon saw a couple of freights go through there and the station there was a two story red insil brick one from the Canadian northern days typical cn scenes of the 1970s. I was always surprised that line stayed in place as long as it did.

Your friend has a very nicely detailed layout!! Love the car with the tarp and hood over the roof along with the engine puller, there has to be plenty of hot rodders up there in Canada, until Trudeau outlaws them!!!!!

WOW. And the VIA which is an all rapido......actually run smoothly! Gorgeous MLW. excellent scenery, loco and rollign stock. Attention to details is stunning. There is a bad order car (9 from the end)ha! :) Simply the best looking layout I have ever seen (on-line) Amazing. Well done !!!!

Only took new motors in both F40’s, axle tuning and lubrication for the coaches, many detail parts removed, a stiffener to straighten the warped baggage car floor, all lights removed after a coach’s light board melted down. I figure it took me 8-10 hours of work to get it where it is now
@MLWQC3 жыл бұрын
@@JPKafal WOW. I thought I was the only one with bad rapido stuff. I had a coach axle melt over a switch...You did great work on those cars and loco. Highly impressed.
